I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Allen's passing, as she was one of the librarians I worked under as a library aide at North Kingstown High School. She was always so kind, benign and pleasant to everyone. Also, my last name was Adams so I was in Peter's homeroom from 8th grade until I became a library aide. In 8th grade, they use to play a record of the "Star-Spangled Banner" before we said the Pledge of Allegiance. And, I think it was Peter that went in and ask the principal if Jimmy Hendrix's version could be played instead and the principal said yes. It was an ineffable moment, as when I first heard Hendrix playing the same song we heard daily but in such a veritable way one thought came to mind. Namely, what a great idea to do this and had to look at Peter with admiration for coming up with the suggestion. I was awkwardly shy and quiet but Peter was so funny and could always make me laugh. High School can sometimes be hard, ouch...so easy to get your feelings hurt. But both, Mrs. Allen and Peter were catalysts for a different frame of mind making you feel accepted when others don't. They were like oasised that you pass by daily for sundry years always offering a drink...

Grandma, I will always remember our wonderful heartfelt conversations, our laughter, our little adventures, watching the sunsets & yachts go by, and countless card games. You have been loved dearly by us all and will be forever missed.

Grandma- You were an example of the strength a matriarch brings to her family. You faced so many challenges and persevered. Your caring soul surrounded your whole life. We often spoke of our experiences as nurses- our bond. I pray that I live my life with such dignity and strength. You will be missed so much. I know you are with mom. That brings me peace.
