Orpha Aubrey Cardona

My “tía” Orpha, as I would have called her in Mexico, had an inner beauty that made me feel at ease. I lost my mother when I was twelve years old and yet I still remember her with a loving smile whenever she mentioned Orpha's name.
Orpha was an advocate of the working class and so was my mom, they were both thirsty for justice and they fought for it not just talked about it. I loved Orpha so much that I gave her a coral and gold necklace my mom had left me, but Orpha returned it a few years before she died as if she sensed that she was going to depart. Orpha also gave me a small plant when she came to Elena's wedding, my youngest daughter; this plant has grown and covers a large area of my house in Dallas, a reminder of the love “de mi tía Orpha del corazón”
Aglaia, Alvarito, Elena and Miguel, I will always love you mother and all of you.

i never met orpha cardona, but was friends with agalaia in the '70's...may the cardona family find peace in all the memories shared, and the love that was exchanged...

Mom, I will always love you. You were always there for me. I miss you so.

I am so touched by looking at all of the beautiful photos of Orpha. My, how we all have grown up as Aglaia and I have been life long friends. You look so much like her. The one with the crown is the one I remember---just like your moms' sence of humor. My heart goes out to you all--Pego, Elena, Miguel and Aglaia--as I lost my mom way too young. She will be there for you all in spirit and may you find peace in knowing that you are all in her heart.
