Lots of wonderful memories, at the store, with Steve and Eric's band. Once I went downtown with Mr. Fernandes to the place he got all the fantastic fruits and vegetables. I couldn't believe my eyes. A good man and a good family.
Harold gave me my first job when I was in high school as a bag boy/produce stocker for Raul's Market. You that were customers know Raul's was the BEST market on the planet! I worked along side his son and my good friend, Steve. Steve and I played together in a band and could be a bit of a handful at times. Harold and Wanda, treated me like a son. Harold taught me the importance of getting to work on time, working hard and taking pride in my job. I was just a teenage surfer/musician that thought I knew everything, yet there was something about Harold's personality and leadership that I truly respected. He made an everlasting impact on my life. I can still see him walking down the aisle and greeting all of his customers in the produce section. He was quick to let people taste the latest crop of fruits and vegatables. He was the most honest person I knew. It touches me just to think of those days. I will be forever grateful to Harold and his family for the valuable lessons of life they taught me. God bless you Harold and the entire Fernandes Family.
My dear cousin Harold, I have many great memories of us growing up in Point Loma. And have your WWII photo of you and crew in front of a B-17 bomber. It hangs proudly on my office wall. You will be missed. Our deepest condolences to the family.
