To Sally, Ray Sr., & Ray Jr's Family:

It is with much personal sorrow that I learned of the untimely passage of Ray Sr. this day. I most appreciate in being notified - thanks Ray's Sr. It is difficult to fathom the twists & turns of existence when such an accomplished individual at the prime of his being and whom I have known as a teenager is no longer with his beloved family and his fellow beings in person. He will remain in our thoughts, however. He could have done so much more.
As I gazed upon his portrait except for his snowy locks, I am reminded of the teenager whom I had met during several summers in Albuquerque. He reminds me a great deal of his mother - in likeness, always happy and without a care. I am also reminded of what Ray Sr. told me once that he turned the volume of his HiFi so loud that the speakers blew apart. Also, he enjoyed having the his Dad's white Fiat Spyder with black top for which his Dad and I did some of the warranty work on my home's driveway in Albuquerque.
To Sally, Ray Sr., his wife, son and daughter, I must says that his legacy to you folks is to be treasured.

With all sincerity also from Imelda,

Peter J C (Albuquerque, NM)

Bo - this is Nick Nichols. I coached you [with David Bean & Matt Newtown] when you were in the 7th grade at Post Oak Little League. My son is Jeremy Nichols. I know that you & your family must be in shock right now & I wish I had the words to make things better, but I don't. I will always remember your Dad's gentle spirit & how he never missed any of your games even though his work load at that time must have been overwhelming. I lost my Dad 14 years ago & there's not a day that goes by that I don't remember him in some way. Please know that you & your family are in my thoughts & prayers.

Dear Bowen and Justice Family-
My heart aches for you all after the sudden loss of Ray. I am sorry I am not nearby to hug each of your necks, but please know that I am in spirit...hugging and praying and loving you all.
Ray's fondness of the Texas Hill Country is something I understand. It is difficult, but I can imagine that Heaven must feel even more beautiful than a Texas sunrise with sounds of birds chirping and a multicolored sunset with a breeze. I'll imagine Ray in heaven with the soothing sounds of the Guadalupe River behind him while he relaxes on the back porch with his feet up, Lord, bless his soul!
My family and I send our love and condolences and we are so, so sorry for the shocking loss of Ray. Please know that we are honored to have known Ray and your family is in our prayers.
Much love,
Ellen, David, John Luke, Sam & Skylar
