Richard Don Akers

August 17, 2014
I just learned of Rich's passing. I worked with him as his personal trainer 2005- 2007 at lifetime fitness. Him and I were close and spoke a couple times a year after I moved back to Montana.. I will always remember when him and I attended Plano Highs playoff game versus Southlake Carroll and his offer for me to attend Tony Dorsetts 25th reunion in New York. We had a great time each day we spent at the gym. Prayers your family's way

I just recently learned my favorite cousin has passed. I am shocked and saddened. He will be missed.

Donna, I am so sorry about Richard. I wish I could have come to the service. I really hated to miss it.

I will miss Richard. He and I usually spoke several times a month. It was like we needed a dose of each other for the month. Richard was the most positive upbeat person I have ever met. He and I seemed to hit it off from the very first time we met.

I know you will miss him very much. If there is anything we can do to help you please let me know.

Donna
I heard the news about Richard and am just heartbroken for you and your family. Please know that you are in my prayers and in my thoughts and if there is anything I can do, do not hesitate to call. I sent my info on LinkedIn as I am back in Texas and largely available.
I had enormous respect for Richard. He was who I think we all want to be in a crowd. He greeted you as if you were a long lost friend. And beyond that, Richard was a rare breed that engaged you in such a way that you knew you had truly been present in that moment.
Your pictures together tell a beautiful story
All my best

Donna, I am so very sorry for your loss. Richard will be sorely missed as he had a way to just light up the room with his smile and great attitude. He was really a terrific guy!
