Dearest Glenna and family...I am so very sorry for your loss...Richard was one of the kindest men to walk through our door...he always had a smile and loved his family so! I pray you find comfort in your memories and feel the love of God holding you...
Dick Hawkinson will be missed and his memory cherished. He and Glenna were like seccond parents to me and many of Chris's girlfriends throughout our school years. They were wonderful to welcome me into their home while we all lived in Chicago area. I remember many wonderful Christmas services to which I was invited to join them at First Lutheran. He will forever be a special man in my heart. "Shake a Tower" - his humor was always always infectious. My condolences to Glenna, Chris, Rick, Doug and to all the grandkids. Love, Rica
My deepest condolences go out to Mr. Hawkinson's family. I was only blessed to know him for a short period of time, but through that time he touched my heart. As a senior nursing student this was the most difficult time for me as truly believed Mr. Hawkinson was a blessing. His sweet nature and heroic past left me in awe. With his permission, I am able to share his story. I will never forget you Dick, it was a pleasure to know you. May you rest in peace and God watch over your family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Mr. Hawkinson, as I will always respectfully call him, was a wonderful, caring person who mentored me through adolescence (Scouting) and professional life (Nabisco) and I will never forget him. May God watch over your family during your time of need and bring you peace.
With deepest sympathy.
Doug, Lynn and Zach,
May God bless you all in this time of sorrow.
