What an incredible man....My peepaw was everything that embodies what we all should strive to be. A loving father, a devoted Christian, and a devoted husband. I only hope to be half of the man he always was. So many incredible memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Many summers in the mountains on tractor rides, Maggie Valley, Cherokee Valley, whistling when it was time to come "home"....this man has been a rock in our family for so long. Peepaw I love you with all of my heart and only wish that you grew to know my family more and influence them. I know it was time for you to be with Grammy and I am eternally grateful for the time you had with us. Thank you for all you did for me throughout the years. All of your advice, your love, and your guidance. I will cherish these memories forever. I love you Peep. -Sean
Thank you for the gift of the most amazing father-in-law a girl could ever have. Thank you for all of the precious conversations we've had over dinner. Thank you for your infinite wisdom when problems seemed too difficult to solve on our own. Thank you for your silly jokes and funny dispositions that would make us laugh out loud (yes, the ones that Grammy would shake her head in wonder.)
Thank you for your belief in the Lord, which shine in each and every prayer. I thank you AND Grammy for the phenomenal example of a "perfect" marriage. I thank you for your truths, your concerns, and your patience, along with your amazing strength you have shown through the years. You told me when I was to wed Gary, that if "I do," you would dance at my wedding. I told you I would "hold you to that." And when I came over to get you (on that special day), we danced. And today, I want to tell you how much I love you and thank you dad...
...for that dance.
Until we meet again...
Thank you for the memories.
With all my love
Gary, Ronnie, and Kay Kay, know that our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Our families go back a long way and our hearts were saddened in learning of this news. May God bless you and sustain you this day and in the days ahead.
The hand that held us
stood tall, firm, and mighty,
was also the hand that was
loving, warm, and kind.
The hand that showed us
the fear of God,
was also the hand that
was as gentle as a pure white lamb.
The hand that stretched out to
pick us up when we fell,
was also the hand that felt
the pain, hurt, and sorrow
in which we endured.
The hand that gave us security,
shelter, and nourishment for life,
was also the hand that directed
the ideology in our ways of life.
Without this hand we could
never become the parents we are,
Thanks Dad, for holding:
my brother, my sister and my hand throughout our lives.
God Bless you all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
