Dick was a brilliant, kind, generous and happy man. He was also the only grandfather that I ever knew, since both of my biological grandfathers passed away before my birth. And what a good grandpa he was! Although we were his step-granddaughters, he always treated my sister Anya and I with great love and respect. I will never forget the family vacations spent at Long Beach and in Yakima. There are so many fond memories from those times - moments that brought our family together. There is one night that I hold in my heart right now. It was Christmastime, and the whole family was sitting in Dick and Pat's living room (which was beautifully decorated for the holidays, of course). Dick read us a number of solemn yet beautiful cowboy poems. I'll never forget how he lit up while reading to us. I will miss his laugh and those kind eyes of his. I'm sending all of my love to my wonderful stepfamily - I love you all and I wish you peace during this difficult time. Know that Dick will never be forgotten - and he will always be loved.

I worked with Dick when he served as legal counsel to the Yakima Valley Landlord Association and served Dick and Patricia as their Realtor. All loved Dick's dry sense of humor and his vast knowledge. Certainly a man of high standards. He will be missed.

Dick was a second father to me while I was causing problems in my youth. Many fond memories. May God hold him in court forever.
