The sadness we have with Rita's passing is heartfelt and very real. That is the way that Rita was--heartfelt and very real! Whether she was playing across the net in tennis, or if you were lucky, on your side of the net, she lived in the moment.

Rita always added a good measure of fun to any gathering. She had an impish sense of humor and keen interest in getting to know everyone. She was a gracious hostess and friend.

We've known part of her family for many years, daughter Laurie and son-in-law Merle, also a great tennis team. Rita and husband Ed (or, as she always called him, "Eddie")were great together at tennis and in life! We truly admire Ed and the positive, patriotic life he has led. Our Fair Oaks group was blessed to have had he Samcoffs in our lives.

We offer our sincere condolences to the Samcoff family and all dear friends who will have an empty place in their hearts without Rita. We look forward to a future time when we can join together again!
