The Brooks Family,
When Bel Nor Elementary School became a primary building, I transferred with other intermediate teachers to Belridge Elementary School. Dr. Brooks was principal at that time. He welcomed us and let us know that he was there for us. He definitely made the transition easier. I valued his mentorship and friendship during those years working with him.
He was a wonderful and caring man. He treated me fairly and was always supportive of me in and out of the classroom.
Dr. Brooks was my first and only principal. He was definitely an educator before his time. He was innovative, creative and always willing to move people outside of their comfort zones for the sake of educating children. He was quite intentional about the questions that he asked and the decisions that he made. I am so glad that he was a part of my professional life and became a lasting friend.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Geneva, Robbie, and the Brooks Family,
I only recently learned of your loss in the paper. My prayers are with you and your family. You might recall, Geneva, you were the Maid-of-Honor at my wedding in December of 1972. I also knew your brother, Robbie, from the YMCA's Camp Pioneer (as camp counselors in the late 60's). I remember how close your family was and know this must be a very difficult time for you all.
I wish you all well and the comfort of each other's love. I know your father will be missed.
My deepest condolences to the Brooks family. My mother (Ruth Brown, father (Charlie) and I knew your father very well. He was a very special and kind person. He would always lend a helping hand when needed and was a great fisherman. He was admired in the education world and was a very dear friend of our family. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Larry, Wendy and the brooks family, I am so sorry for your loss...a parent is so hard to lose...All we can do is remember the good times and all of the things we've learned from them and keep them alive through the memories..I pray God comforts each and every one in the specific way they need.. My deepest condolence
