Bob,was more than an aquaintance he was one of the BEST FRIENDS anyone could ask for. I was Fortunate to call him FRIEND.
There are several stories I could tell about Robert but I will limit it to these four.
1) Ihad asked bob to help me put a new top on my 1928 Model A roadster but the only requirement was that I had to help and learn from him. He would give me a task tell me how he wanted me to do the task and then leave. Upon his return after doing this a couple of times he said "I usually have to handhold people to get tasks done, but with you I tell and show you and when I come back it's done. I like working with you."
2) I had the opportunity to go the the Santa Rosa MAFCA National Awards banquet with Bob & Martha, as we traveled there by car (me driving) Bob said "it was a very educational trip and that H had broadened his vocabulary of the different drivers on the road."
3) Helping Bob and the others work on the MAFFI Museum Car was something I also will never forget.
4) Bob had a way of always bringing out the best in people. He had a way of transforming his idea's into your acctions because he knew you could and would do it the best way possible. Everyyone has a gift BOB'S WAS MY GIFT.
Thank you Bob. May GOD enjoy your friendship as much as we did.
You will stay always in our prayers.
