Roland Nelson

March 08, 2014
To Rollie's Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Rollie when my father moved into the Terraces a few years ago. Both Rollie and Austin became great friends and developed fun little routines. For instance, each day, Rollie would stop by my father's room to get the temperature report on his way to lunch. Rollie was such an inspiration to me. He was always attentive and interested in my activities and his determination to exercise and lose weight was also impressive - up and down the hall he would walk and he would only have his black raspberry ice-cream once or twice a week! If he could do it, so should I! I know he is at peace and I'm sure my dad was there to also welcome him on the 1st of March and provide him with heaven's weather report! I'm sorry I will not be able to attend his memorial service but I will be thinking of you all on the 14th. Rollie will always stay close in my heart and I hope I will be able to take his life lessons and age as gracefully as he did. Sincerely, Liz Ryder
