Grandma,

I know it's taken me quite a while to write, but I guess the fact that you've really passed away hasn't fully hit me yet. I've cried my fair share of tears, sure; but I still feel like the next time I go home to visit Mom & Dad, you will be there at the nursing home greeting me with a big smile and a very loud "GIAAAAAA!" It always made me really happy to hear that... even if 10 seconds later you were nagging at me because I wasn't already engaged to be married (or at the very least have a longterm boyfriend). Even though I'm only 22, you seemed to think that my biological clock was ticking furiously.

I've been watching videos and looking at pictures a lot lately... all of you. Your rendition of "White Christmas" sometimes echoes in my head. Even though you were severely off key, I appreciated it (so long as it wasn't used as an alarm clock to wake me up for school!). I appreciated every song, every dance, every laugh.

They're all memories now, stored in this big old head of mine. Memories that I am going to hang onto for the rest of my life. Memories I'm going to share with my kids & my grandkids. It will all start with, "you know I had this crazy grandmother named Rosie whom I loved very much..." and will end with lots of laughter & smiles.

You made me love you.

Ricky, Delores and extended family. I too sit here with grand memories of Rosie....always a smile on her face. It was evident that she was proud of all of you and that she loved the family getting togethers. She was such a "ham' in front of the camera and on the dance floor - lol. She is resting peacefully tonight up in heaven -- giving orders to grill her another hot dog and to crank up the music. She will be missed... God Bless You Rosie
