My favorite memory of Grandma was that she would always take really good care of all the grand kids and every time I was at my dad's house I would ride my bike down to Grandma and Grandpa's house and Grandpa would be in his chair and Grandma would be reading a book. Everytime I would walk into the house there would be the smell of a fresh baked pie or something really delicious to eat. I remember falling asleep by grandma while she read her books or while grandpa and her watched Jeopardy. Although I'm going to miss Grandma, at least I know she is in a better place.
When I think of Grandma, I will always remember ...how she always called me her beautiful brown-eyed girl...her amazing spaghetti (the only spaghetti that I'll eat!)...all of her great, witty, one-liners...how she would always listen resolutely to whatever you said...playing our favorite game: Tickle Time!...and lastly, how much love and compassion she showed for all of us grandchildren.
Grandma's spaghetti is probably one of my favorite meals. Even when it isn't "her" spaghetti, every time I eat spaghetti I think of Grandma and how she was an amazing cook and always had the best meals.
I remember how she would always call of the grandchildren "darling" and how it made me feel so special and loved every time she would call me that.
As a young kid, the whole family would go to Grandma & Grandpa's house for Christmas and I remember all of us piling in there and running around. Grandma always had the cookie jar and every time we went there it was filled with her homeade cookies.
I also remember "tickle time". We would be running around and then Grandma would grab us and say tickle time and just start tickling us until we were laughing as hard as we could.
The thing I will always remember most about Grandma is her smile and laugh. Any time I think of Grandma, I can distinctly remember her smile. When she saw all of the grandchildren, or her family, her smile would light up the whole room. Even if I was having a bad day or I didn't feel well, I would see Grandma's smile and all of my worries would go away because I felt safe and warm when Grandma was around.
Even though Grandma may not be around anymore, I will always remeber her because of the way she taught and loved me as I grew up. I love Grandma so much and she will always be in my heart.
Rosemary was a very special person to me, she was one of the most kindest and loving Aunts any girl could be blessed to have. Living with her as a child, I always felt safe and loved. She made me feel special and took time to talk and do fun things. One of my fondest memories as a child with Aunt Rosemary is sipping a cool glass of Ginger Ale and laying in lawn chairs on a warm summer day in her yard talking and listening to the gentle breeze ripple through the leaves on the poplar trees, as if they were wind chimes. To this day in the summer when the gentle breezes ripple through the leaves in trees it brings back the fond memories as a child with my special Aunt. From the time I was a toddler, young child, teenager and adult, she was always there for me. As an adult, she was the one person I could go to for answers or help no matter what the time or circumstance. She will be so very much missed, but I was blessed to have had her for my special aunt and the memories we made through the years, I will carry always in my heart. I will see you in heaven someday, my precious aunt.
Love, Paulette and family
The way that I remember grandma is that she was always fun and loving. Whether it was watching cartoons at her house or hanging out with family she always made sure that we had a good time. I have so many memories such as family get togethers for holidays, birthdays or dinners, the time Kate and I ate all of her sugar cubes, trick or treating there on Halloween. All of my memories involved fun when Grandma was around it was never boring. I will miss her a lot!
