Russ, you were my dads best friend and we will all miss you. I remember when we used to have bbqs at our houses and your houses a long time ago. I wish there would have been alot more of those over the years, but I guess God had other plans. I am sorry you are gone...Joseph

Russ, I only knew you a little time after arriving here in the USA in 2007, but I had fun hanging out with you and my dad and mom, here in Indian Springs and at your house in Las Vegas. I will miss you. Kristine

Russell, my best friend for the past 35+ years, I am so sorry you are gone. I was diagnosed before you with cancer and then you, so we have both been busy with doctor appts, etc, and havent spent nearly enough time together the last 9 years. The USAF took you and I around the world, but we were always best friends, and when we got back stateside, by happenstance we both ended up here in Las Vegas. Me with the LVMPD and you with Airlines. As we were both approaching the time in our life when we could think about retiring, I envisioned we would be kicking back, and you would be making many road trips to come see Josie and I in Lake Havasu. I thought we would fish and chat about life and crack a beer open and reminese about the good old days in Manteca growing up. We spent so much time in the mountains at my grand parents cabin at Pinecrest, along with going to the San Joaquin River, fishing and having a couple beers, and finally all the time spent wrenching on cars at my dads shop in the country, your driveway and garage, and my back yard. I will misss you dearly. I did not make it in time to see you before you left us. As usual, I would have been doing all the talking and you would have been writing a tablet full of words trying to keep up with me. Your children were my children and mine were yours. Josie and I will keep an eye on/watch over Nick and Gabby for you while youre gone. I have another Angel in heaven to talk to while im going about life, whether it be driving my police truck, own car, waking up in the morning, going to bed at night, or looking up into the heavenly stars at night. You are gone from this earth my friend, but you are not forgotten. You live on in every person who had the pleasure of coming into contact with you. I will see you one day my friend, hopefully in another 20+ years, but you never know God's plans. I love you....Bill

Russell, my best friend, you are gone and time has passed so quickly these last 35 years plus that I have known you. We went our seperate ways half way around the world at times, thanks to the USAF, but always kept in touch and you were always my best friend. I imagined in our retirement years (which are almost here), you would be visiting Josie and I at our house in Lake Havasu, and we would be drinking a beer, talking about all the good times we had growing up in Manteca. What fun times we had going to my grand parents cabin at Pinecrest, Sonora, the San Joaquin river and all that time we had wrenching on cars at your house or my dads shop in the country. Your children were my children and mine were yours. Josie and I will always be here to help out and watch over Nick and Gabby. You may be gone in body, but you are far from gone in anyones life you touched. I now have another Angel to talk to in heaven, each day as I drive down the road in my police car, personal car, or while looking up at the scorching Havasu sun, or night time stars. I will miss you dearly my best friend. Love Bill
