Doris Rusgrove and I visited Ruth often when she lived at Magnolia Estates. We shared lots of laughs as we reminisced about the Pilot Club of Oconee Co., trips and adventures enjoyed by Ruth and pals Doris, Melba Garrett, and Mrs, Dillard ( on which Ruth was always responsible for the morning devotionals), and many shared times (both simple and special) with the Elder Family. Ruth had a wonderful dry wit which would catch you off-guard if you weren't paying close attention! She lived her life in a Christ-like manner, and was a true friend. May God's love, grace, and healing be with the Abbott family during your time of grief and sorrow.
Michael and Family - I am so sorry for your lost. It was my honor to get to know Ms. Abbott during her time at Scenic View Assisted Living. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for notifying us of Mrs. Abbott's death. We thought the funeral service was a wonderful tribute to her life and to her Savior. Our daughter, Amy was named after Mrs. Abbott--Amanda Ruth--and we so pleased to hear what Pastor Fuller said about Mrs. Abbott--a woman with a strong minded will. That is what we see in our Amanda Ruth also. We were thankful to be able to see her family and to remember our wonderful times together.
The light of the world is Jesus Christ of which Mrs. Abbott knew very well. She is now with the light and is pain free. She was a very honorable woman of which I was very fortunate to meet and know. Very gracious and meticulous. I thank thee o Lord for thy goodness to Mrs. Abbott. Prayers and blessings to her family. Love and God Bless to one and all. She will be greatly missed.
Michael, Alan and Family,
Aunt Ruth, a very special lady. I love her very much.
God's Blessings and Peace be with you all.
