Seaborn Lowrey Varnado lll
Jimmy, Larry, Cathy and family,
I have great memories as a boy of your dad and his story-telling, especially his ghost stories like "The Monkey's Paw." As I became older, I began to appreciate your father's fine wit and humor in his writing, and opened up the Catholic Week each week simply to see if your father had written another biting, witty, or poignant letter to the editor. I've read everything your dad wrote that I could get my hands on since, always with affection and appreciation for your dad and the man I knew as a boy. He was a man's man--convicted, faithful and honest, with a fantastic sense of humor and irony.
My condolences and God's blessings to your mom and all of you in this loss.
My condolences to all the Varnado family. I have such fond memories of Dr. Varnado! Blessings to all.
I spent a great deal of time with Mr. Varnado's family in younger years, and knew him as a kind person and a wonderful human being. He will be greatly missed. Deepest sympathies,
James V. Rasp
Oh, Mary Lou, I am so sorry! I was getting ready to answer your card when for some reason I looked on the internet and found Lowsrey's death. I know at this point it was "going home" for him, but I remember so many of the good times. My thoughts are with you and your family. Love, Marcella
My most sincere condolences to the Varnado family especially Mary Lou and Cathy. Doctor Varnado was an amazing man in so many ways. His sense of humor had no equal.
Sincerely; Billy Hinton
