Shirley Ambrose (Andrews)

March 28, 2010
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you get through the next few weeks and months. Parting is such a bittersweet sorrow. Shirley was a very important woman in my life, she modeled strength, character and integrity in all she did. I was overwhelmed with memories as I sat in the sanctuary on Friday. Memories of my mom and Shirley in the church kitchen together, the Christmas eve arrival of the homemade christmas tree shaped rolls, New Years day and of course my sewing lessons. I could go on and on. My love to you all.

To my cousins I would like to seed my deepest condolences. I apologize for not being with you Friday and for my dissertation getting in the way of that. My thought and prayers were and are with you all. It is hard to put into words what your mom represented to me; she set the bar very high in a very good way and faith, dignity, grace, love, proper, and amazing a few of the words that come to mind. Your collective successes are a reflection of all those things. Though your hearts are heavy take heart in knowing you need not look for the living among the dead for her faith has made her well because He has risen.

I am so sorry that I am unable to attend the visitation and funeral, as I am out of town.
I was the administrative secretary at Central for 6 years on and off when Shirley volunteered at the front desk. I will always remember her for her many kindnesses to me. I so missed her friendship and efficiencies when she would be gone. I looked forward to the days she would be back from the lake or from one of her trips with her family or friends. She loved her family and friends and had so many stories to tell of the many times you spent together. I am so sorry for your loss but because of our faith we know we will meet her again.
God's blessings to all of you. I was so gifted to have been a very small part of her life.

Your mother was a wonderful woman who touched the lives of many. I was truly blessed to have been cared for by her as a child. She was a great influence in my life and a very dear friend to my mother. All of you "boys" were so loved by my mother. I have so many memories of your family and will treasure them always. Thank you for sharing your mother with a little girl in need. I will miss her deeply. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.
