Thoughts of Stanley ~ from cousin Janet (and Ralph), and uncle Don, Our time with Stanley was too seldom, yet he is fondly remembered. Yes, certainly in our memories. We remember his layover visit in California on his way to Vietnam and the very happy note back from there when we sent home made fudge to him and his buddies. And in more recent years the Thanksgiving in Oklahoma & by the pond on the farm. To all those with heavy hearts, know he is right where he knew he would be, in heaven.

First of all...I want to thank everyone here, for coming to pay respects to our Brother Stan.....Secondly, I want to say...... Everyone of you here is Gifted and Special in your own way...... As for my Brother Stan....To many of us, he is an Icon of our times here on earth.....A Genius in his own right as many know......King Daddy Stan....Is what he would say to me & others....You know what?.....He did have bragging rights....No doubt!...He knew it, I knew it.....Others did too......
Oh, how I got tired of hearing it over the years....I'm King Daddy,.... Nobody knows more than I do, NOBODY.......You know what?.....How I wish, I could hear him say it to me now again today.......Cause he did know......We didn't need to go to a library.....Just call Stan.....The Man with the plan....Who seemed could do anything with ease.
Stan was and will always be an Icon of his times....He was a gifted man.....
A man with endless knowledge of how to & why......Soaking up information like a sponge from a very young age of 8 or so.....As he gazed his eyes upon our Grandmothers old time radio that stood 4 feet high.....Buttons you could push, with a large tuning knob, that you could twist, turn, listen to, and wonder how and why.....
From that point on he began absorbing knowledge as easy as 1..2..3..
Morris code by 11 or12 years of age in his radio shack on 27th and Brookline.....
After taking his Ham test ...He soon became K5BAO....K5...Bananas, Apples & Oranges...His call sign for his Ham radio Transmissions...........
From a personal note.....He didn't like it too well when I wanted to play ham operator on his radios.... Flipping switches, Turning radio knobs while he was away......
Again from that point on he wanted to know....How to & Why....it seems like in everything..... Stan became gifted over the years....Leaving high school around 16 because he was bored.....Went to work with my Father Ray.....Making good money Plumbing, construction, etc, over the years......Stan became the man we all know with a knowledge base of extreme......Most of us, have called on Stan from time to time, to get things done or problems solved.....Acquiring his rightful name...
Stan The Man....Who I... and each one of us.... Will miss much.... each and everyday.......
For public information....There are many times Stan wanted to clone me..... Make another Stan so to speak......As one had suggested to him....That is here in the congregation today. ....Need another Stan....Well that wasn't going to happen ..... Even though he tried..... There would only be one Stan....
We, my Sister and I....have so many memories that we could share.....
And so do many of you.... if you were up here speaking today...Especially from the Pioneer Gang as it was in those days.....Where life was simple in mischief and play.
Let me give you a recent, that was not too long ago....July forth...Stan wanted to have a big bang.....What does he do?.....Takes a black trash bag....Partially fills it with acetylene....with a long fuse.....Places it on the ground 150 feet away..... As we waited for the big bang.....We asked,... is this going to work.....He smiled with a grin and said just wait!....
Boom!.....With a flash....It was loud..... The sheriff shows up later wanting to know who's house blew up.....We just stood there dumb founded....and said we were wondering that too......Point is...It knocked a couple of pictures off the neighbors wall.....Stan was always coming up with something weather it was work or play.....The list goes on.......We all love Stan that's why were here today.....Lets Honor Stan....by sharing moments of his life together as we leave this room today.....
To each of you that is here today...... Thank You......
Stan we will never forget you.....Your, Brother, Sister, Mother, Family & Many Friends..........73's to you Stan. End Of Transmission..... Over & Out!
