I love you grandpa... I miss you everyday. I look up at the stars and moon and think of you. I'm so thankful for all the amazing times we had. Breakfast is still my favorite meal... Especially if I'm eating it at night! I miss you grandpa and I always will... I know you're watching from above and I hope I can make you proud. I love you to the moon and back...
POEM BY NINA BETTENCOURT (TED'S SISTER)
We are gathered here today “November 8th 2013” for a celebration of Ted's life.
Everyone is here—his Children, Grandchildren, Siblings, Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Wife
Ted was very practical and intelligent and successful in his life
He was Steadfast, truthful and honest and always supportive of me
He was truly a perfect Gentleman and Brother
He was happy, sensitive and caring. I could go on forever
We traveled with Ted and Sherri to places galore
Went on cruises, tours, train trips and many more
Sibling's sleepovers were fun; we ate lots, played games, reminisced, and slept on the floor
Ted loved the Opera, plays and any kind of entertainment and he loved to dance
We would all go Square Dancing every time we got a chance
It made me so happy that Ted and Ray genuinely liked each other
I think Ray considered Ted another brother
Over the years we not only traveled together and had lots of fun
We had business ventures together that we established in younger years, and business actually got done
We closed up the books—everything was done
We headed off to dinner that was the reward we had won
So today I think Ted would like us to reflect on the good times we all had together
And cherish the love and respect we had for each other
My heart aches for myself and everyone else that is here
As we all love Ted—that seems so very clear

Our dad…he was a great friend, a fantastic brother, an amazing husband, an exceptional father and grandfather. He was all about making people happy, doing nice things for others
We took many family vacations together Dad loved to plan and organize parties, and gatherings. One of his favorite events every year was the family Christmas party with all his relatives. If he had his way he would send the invitations out in August so everyone would get it on their calendars.
Dad would always proof read for us and he would get out that little red pencil, we would cringe to see those red marks all over the page, but we would make every single change because we knew it would be a better paper after he was through with it.
Dad was a planner; he even planned for the inevitable moment when he couldn't do taxes anymore. He's been teaching us over the last few years to do our own. (Uggghhh) We all resisted him, but he kept insisting. I know all of us would have preferred a few more years of practice.
Dad loved to read to the grandchildren. When we were at the house, our kids would look forward to naptime, because naptime involved reading about 20 books maybe a light snack, I'm pretty sure there was no sleeping involved at all.
Dad supported us in all our endeavors…..I remember getting a card from mom and dad saying how proud they were of my accomplishments at work and then a number of months later I quit work to stay home with my kids I received another card from them telling me how proud they were of me being a stay at home mom and taking such good care of my children. This kind of unconditional support was what we received our whole lives.
I can think of another story- it's about my parent's neighbor Michelle. One day she was telling us how she thought her succulents were doing SOOO well. Month after month, they were thriving, (even though she would forget to water them or do anything to them) She was so proud of her green thumb until one day she caught my dad out there watering, adding fertilizer and pulling out the dead succulents and replacing them with new ones. This is what my dad was like about so many things. He would just quietly do for others. This was our Dad…
TODAY WE WISH TO HONOR OUR DAD AND CELEBRATE HIS LIFE
Prayers of the Faithful for Ted Van Bebber
7. We pray for those who mourn Ted's death that they may find strength and consolation in the hope we have through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear Our Prayer
8. May the prayers of Mary, the Mother of God, who stood by the cross
as her son was dying, help those who mourn and be with all of us in our
time of need.
Lord in your mercy,
Hear Our Prayer
Deacon Jim Myers:
God, our shelter and our strength, you listen in love to the cry of your people; hear the prayers we offer for our departed brothers and sisters. Cleanse them of their sins and grant them the fullness of redemption
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
