My fondest memory of Thurman was during our trip to Homestead, FL after Hurricane Andrew with the Youth Group and about 8 adults. Thurman was the only one of us who really knew what he was doing, and I have a funny recollection of him sitting in a bathtub in someone's home, caulking around the edge. It was a picture I kept in my mind for sometime afterward! We enjoyed knowing him and thank him for his years of service at Skycrest. Our blessings and condolences to the family.
In Christ's love,
Lynne and Ron Read
Virginia, we were so sad to hear of Thurman's passing. He was one of our very favorite people in the world. Our time with you and Thurman at Skycrest United Methodist was truly a blessing to our entire family. Our children thought he hung the moon! Peace to you and your family. Steve & Patti Kushner
Virginia, so sorry to hear this news. What a sweet, gentle man. He was a perfect minister and friend to this young family at Skycrest UMC. I can still remember the words he said to encourage me as a young mother. And I know that God still is working in me. I enjoyed looking at these photos. It looks like he could still be the star pitcher of the softball team! Bless you and know that Tim and I are thinking of you. Trina Barnes
Thurman was on my mind today and I just happened to do a Google search on him to see if I could find your address and his obituary came up. Virginia, we send you our love, prayers and sincere condolences. Thurman led me into a relationship with Christ, gave me my first opportunity in Christian ministry and was a beloved mentor and friend. I regret not looking you up sooner. Peace be with you. May there be Snoopy and lots of MM's in Heaven :) Love, Pete, Jean, Mike and Laura McDaniel. Huntsville, Alabama
Virginia, I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Thurman. I saw the pictures of your beautiful family. I am thinking about all of you during your great loss. We have lived so far away from FL that it has been difficult to keep up with OHS friends. Linwood and Mary Elizabeth Kennedy,
