When I first started work as an engineer, dad told me "A good engineer is not someone that knows everything. A good engineer knows where to find what he needs." I have never forgotten those words.

My dear Daddy, There are so many things that I remember about you but there is not enough room here! So, I will just remind myself of the things you said that have stuck with me and my family: 1) Your brothers and sisters will always be your best friends and there to help if needed! 2) Learn something new everyday and you will not have wasted your day. 3)and for my kids - to be successful in your education and life - "Apply the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair!" It is sad that there are so many sayings that you used to tell us in Spanish and we did not write them down... I know they will always be in my heart. I love you and miss you. My dearest Mary and Ernesto: I join you in your sadness in losing your wonderful Father. I wish that in your sadness you will allow a little room to remind you what a fantastic Father you had. Not only was he a tremendous success as an engineer but his great feelings for his family took first place. Not only did he love you dearly but he had you placed on the highest pedestal possible. He touched hearts of each person he met. I was even luckier because from the very first time I met him we were the closest friends possible. How rich we all are who had the privilege of knowing him. I thank you all for this great part of my life. God Bless you all as HE watches with your Father for all days. Most sadly and sincerely. John J. McKetta, Jr.

To the Family of Tomas Cisneros Maldonado we want to extend our sincere condolences and sympathy on the passing of your Dad. My Dad,Fernando Perez,Sr, from the Perez Bakery on International Blvd. from the 1950s -1980s and my Mom, Maria Tamayo Galvan knew you Dad and,Mo, Martha well. They spoke highly of them, how hard working family they were. When my Dad got very ill in the 1970s and had to go for cancer treatments at MD Anderson Hospital, your parents opened up their home to them in Houston. We thought that was super nice of your parents. When your parents lived here in Brownsville they were good customers of our bakery. May your Dad now rest in Peace. With all due respect and may God bless your Family, Mr. and Mrs. Fernando Perez,Jr.
