I just want to add a line to let Wayne Paul's family know that my heart goes out to them. When I was a little girl I was in his parents' home a lot because my parents (Ben & Ada Long) were close friends of Woodrow & Boby. The past few days Wayne Paul has been on my mind & I was so sorry to discover he had passed away. He was always so nice to me & treated me like his little sister.
I was really shocked to learn about Wayne's passing. He was my first best friend in the US. I still vividly remember the great time we had together in Ann Arbor. You made me feel at home and became my American family right away. As you know, I had wanted to come to see him as soon as I heard about his illness. Nancy and I are still planning on coming to visit with you and your family.
Would you be available around August 28? I wrote you an email a month ago, but have not heard back from you.

Wayne was my father-in-law for 15 years. I remember the moment that I walked into his home as his daughter-in-law for the first time. He hugged me and said to me, “welcome home daughter”. For more than half my life he was a father to me. I am honored and blessed to have had him in my and my son's (Bradley, his grandson) lives. He gave to his family unselfishly. He encouraged and supported us all in obtaining our goals and dreams. Thank you Wayne; for always being there for me and making me a part of your family. I miss you.

It's hard to know just what to say
When someone dear to us passes away.
We have our loved one for just a while
Then God calls him to heaven where
He goes with a smile
To help Him tend His flock above
To coach the little ones and embrace with love
Those who are waiting with smiles and hugs,
Leaving us with hearts full of memories that tug.
So god has a plan to help those who are left
That we may not fell so totally bereft.
Our family and friends in our time of sorrow
Are there to help us with each tomorrow.
Lillian and family. So sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. When Barb and I were visiting next door, it was always a highlight to talk across the wall with him. He was so kind and intelligent. We always appreciated our parents having the best possible neighbors in Wayne and Lillian.
