Dear Wendy's Family:
I was so saddened to hear of your mother's passing. We have been friends since elementary school at Nims in Muskegon, MI, through high school graduation, and then when she was one of my attendants at my wedding in 1960.
I am so grateful that we had been able to re-establish communication in recent months. She always spoke so glowingly of her children and grandchildren, and the recent trip she was able to take. I must admit to putting a little pressure on her to become comfortable with a computer so we could "talk" more easily and frequently.
Please know that your mother was a special person from the time she was young until later in life. I held her in the highest regard intellectually and socially. As we all age, we realize how the loss of a special friend is like losing an anchor to the world!
As a wise elderly woman told me when my husband died, "You will never forget; it will just become easier to remember."
My best wishes to all of you.
