Pop, it's been a long journey for you. It was a road from bravery in WWII to colon cancer to pelvis repair and hip replacement to consistent pain from age-onset arthritis. It wasn't an easy life for you, but God always watched over you and brought you to the end of your journey, to enjoy your everlasting destination. After many years of being your caregiver, and Mom's, we had many loud
"discussions." Still and all, I miss those times. The house seems empty without your LARGE personality and my BIG mouth, but I know that you're in a much better place and in much bigger hands. I learned one thing about life and death and that is that when we depart this world we take a little bit of our loved ones with us and we leave a little bit of ourselves behind. I held your hand before you died and that is a touch that only we will ever know. Rest in Peace, Pop.

Your loving daughter,

Mr. William "Willie" Ramirez was my father-in-law for many years. He loved being outdoors so much so he named his shed "The WR Ranch". United States veteran who took a great deal of interest in political matters. One always knew where you stood with Willie he was not shy when it came to his views or his feelings. He raised two beautiful daughters, loved salami, bread, sardines and a good ole fashion cookout. Willie thank you for your service to our Country and being a real Patriot.

I feel proud and honored to have known my Uncle William. I still remember looking forward as a kid to getting a free yohoo or popsicle from him at the bodega on Intervale Ave. and the special nickname he had for me back then. I still get chills remembering the story he told me on how he was wounded in WW II and showing me his scar. Later in life I fondly remember looking forward to watching Saturday or Sunday afternoon baseball games with him on TV when I would visit Tia Vivian and him in Orlando. Many warm memories. Dear old warrior you've had a great, long life and raised an amazing family and now you can rest in eternal peace. We will miss you.

Tio, as I called him, was also my Godfather. I can say that I enjoyed my visits through the years, growing up. He would always tease my aunt, Vivian, and make funny jokes. When my son was born, he was very nice and joked around with him. I remember how much pride he took in his garden and backyard area. He really enjoyed it. I am truly taken back to have read his obituary and see all of the honors and decorated with medals. He was so humble that he never talked about that. Wow!!! I am very proud to be his niece and his goddaughter. Love you, Tio. RIP and may God bless you. God bless Vickie and Lee and the family through this difficult time. Love you all. Sandra, Manuela, and Angel.
