Raymond R. Wask, age 83, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born on January 25, 1933, in New York City, NY to the late Richard & Mammie (Burnatt) Wask. Ray was a resident of Spring Hill, coming from Newton (Hampton Township) New Jersey. Raymond was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War, and service mostly at Fort Campbell, KY, as an Administrative Specialist and dated his future wife, long distance, while serving. Raymond received his Bachelors in Arts, at Seaton Hall University, in Orange, NJ. Ray retired after many years working as an Aircraft Parts Procurement Manager, for Department of Defense Contractors. Ray was born and raised a Roman Catholic and he and his wife attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, in Spring Hill. Ray loved to tell stories, and jokes, and his most favorite was that he had 3 true loves, his first was his ’58 Chevy, his second was basketball, and his third was Arlene, his wife. Ray liked to do antiquing, and to collect items, such as “campaign buttons” and going to flea markets. Ray also was an avid animal lover, and for his entire married life, he always had either a dog or cat. He and is his Son Gregory loved to watch “Old Time Movies” together. After he left the Army, Arlene and Ray married and remained faithful to each other for 58 years. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mammie (Burnatt) Wask, and by his sister, Helena Wask. Ray is lovingly survived by his wife, Arlene P. Wask, of Spring Hill, FL, sons; Gregory Wask of Spring Hill, and Richard Wask of Newton, NJ, and by his daughter, Alicia Wask, and granddaughter Lacey Wask, both of Spring Hill. Ray’s family will gather privately to remember him, and ask that all friends do so as well.
