John Slemons Obituary
Apr. 1927 ~ Aug. 2013
John J. Slemons, 86, of Brentwood, CA, previously of Hilmar, CA, passed away on 8/28/2013.
The memorial service will be held on September 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary located at 247 N Broadway, Turlock, CA. Private interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
John was born in Fairfax, MO on April 12, 1927. He graduated from Fairfax High School before enlisting in the U. S. Army. John married Bernadine Inglish on November 28th, 1947; they were married for 58 years.
John was a farmer, before moving to California. He worked for the Railroad Express Agency as a truck driver and later retired driving for an oil company. John and Bernadine enjoyed traveling for many years in their motor home as well as several cruises & trips to Hawaii.
John is survived by daughter, Barbara Prado, her husband, Bill Prado and daughter, Beverly Scroggins. Grandchildren, Richard Prado (Deneene), Teresa Murphy (Matt), Kristen Scroggins, Erin Dubell (Korey); Great Grandsons, Matthew, Michael, Anthony and Jacob. He is also survived by siblings, Richard Slemons, Mary Graves, Marcia Martin.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine and parents R.F. & Blanche Slemons.
