Joy Davis Obituary

DAVIS, JOY MARYANNA Dexter, MI Age 67, died peacefully Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at her daughter's home in Dexter, MI. She was born March 11, 1945 in Sharpsburg, PA, the daughter of Herbert and Isabelle (Holland) Hazard. On Aug. 25, 1961, she married Richard L. Davis in Ypsilanti, MI, and he survives. They moved to Dexter May 1, 1966, where they raised their family. Joy retired from Gelman/Pall Sciences in Ann Arbor in 2007. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing, and loved animals of all kinds, especially hummingbirds and her dog, Tori. Other survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Phillip) Miller and Hellen Hergott; two grandchildren, Mitchell Granet and Jillian (Bill) Poteracki. Joy was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Ronald Hazard, and her son Richard "Rick" Davis Jr. in 2008. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 21, 7 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Deacon Tom Franklin officiating.
