Marijo, The wonderful picture of Kent you chose brings back his humor and wit. These qualities will always be with us in his art work. His views of reality will always bring us a chuckle and recognition of truth.

Marijo, I am thinking of you as I remember the few times that I saw you and Kent at the beach/camp. A quiet man, with a great presence, and a love for being close to the sights and sounds of the water, awareness of the sky - and who loved being surrounded by nature in your home. Love and prayers, and call me any time.

I remember the first time I met Kent as he accompanied Marijo to visit her friend (me!) in the Chicago area. I don't think he was so crazy about coming to the "Big" city but I made points by taking them to the beautiful Botanical Gardens especially the Japanese Pavillion. Kent was such a lovey man. We will miss him, Marijo!

So sorry for the loss of our good friend! He was a dear man. Very brave and he had so much dignity. In the end we know you found peace and an acceptance that was full of courage. Marijo, what luck you found one another in this universe so full. May his journey home, be blessed. He is loved and his memory is cherished. All the kids are sad, too. and they all say Marijo, WE love you!!!

I am Kent's Cousin. (His Mother Winifred was the sister of my Father, Bertie Ashton, who was born in King's Lynn, Norfolk,England). I was born in London and christened Beryl Cynthia Valerie Ashton.
Kent and I played together as children when I was evacuated from Romford,Essex, during the war.(my Dad worked at Briggs, which later became Ford). We also visited as older cousins later on in our twenties.
He was a favourite Cousin becuase he was so intelligent and well-mannered. His Mother, Auntie Win, was a favourite Aunt because sh was always so kind to me.
God bless you Kent, and please accept sincere condolences to Marijo and family from the Styles family (my husband was James, and so is my grandson, my sons are Mark and Edward) in Surrey, B.C. Our prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kent's passing. I used to work with him when he freelanced at the Chelsea Standard and enjoyed his intelligent writing, good humor and stimulating conversation. I also enjoyed his artwork and satirical cartoons – and enjoyed reminiscing with a fellow Brit ex-pat. I’ll miss him.

Kent's peaceful, intelligent presence made this world a better place. He was such a welcome addition to our family, and I came to think of him as a brother. I was honored to be there at the time of his death. I will miss him.
