Miriam Sutherland Obituary
Miriam died June 29, 2012 at the age of 99. She was born in Detroit, MI, and grew up in Chicago, IL. In December 1939 she married Fordyce M. Sutherland, D.O. In 1959, Miriam and her daughters settled in Ann Arbor, where she lived for the next 50 years. Miriam earned a B.A. in Art History (1969) and an M.A. in Education (1971), both from the University of Michigan. She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Kerschbaum and Judy (Ronald) Rolston, both of Ann Arbor, and Suzanne Sutherland of Englewood, FL, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Miriam lived her last three years under the loving care of the Kresge nursing staff at the Chelsea Retirement Community. A memorial service will be held for miriam on Thursday, July 12 at 5:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, 1432 Washtenaw Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Dawn Farm of the Humane Society of Huron Valley. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea.
