June Tessmer

Tessmer, June Pinckney, MI Age 91, June died peacefully on September 19, 2010. She was born on June 12, 1919. A victim of Polio, June's resulting disability did not stop her from leading an active life. She will be missed on Drummond Island where she vacationed each summer for 60 years. June will live in the hearts of family and friends who loved her. June was the oldest of five generations of first born girls. Survivors include her three children, Karen (Robert) Shoup, Michael Tessmer and Pat (Giovanna) Tessmer as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Tessmer and her daughter in law, Kay Tessmer. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Nie Family Funeral Home, Liberty Rd. Chapel, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 12:00 noon until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.
