AGE: 38 • Red Bank
AnnMarie Pierro, 38, of Red Bank, Director of The Learning Tree Pre-School in Red Bank, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012. She is survived by her beloved husband Paul; children, Anthony, Jonathan, Reese and Jake; parents, Anthony and Phyllis Sofo; sister, Melissa Johnson; brother Anthony Sofo; mother-in-law Jeanne Pierro; and brothers-in-law, Nicholas, Anthony and Christopher Pierro.
Viewing from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, 1735 Rt. 35, Middletown. Funeral Mass Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare Church, Staten Island. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.

My cousin/aunt annmarie was my romodel she was so caring to others , she was beautiful inside and out , she was so funny , sweet , and kind. I'm so sorry to hear of Ann Marie's passing. I attended Hill with her and remember some great times with her, like her Sweet 16, when she got a little too close to a candle! She had a beautiful smile, and I'm sure it's lighting up the heavens!! Blessings and comfort to her family and friends.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office was informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". I knew AnnMarie in high school. We were co-captains of the JV cheerleading squad together before I transferred to another high school. I remember cheerleading practices at her family's home in their backyard during the summer. The entire family always welcomed us over with smiles.
I'm sure you are already well aware of the wonderful person AnnMarie was and the number of lives she touched. I can only remember her smiling or being sweet or kind. Never an unkind word. She had a good heart and I can only imagine that she passed that on to her boys. I will keep her family in my prayers. Even when someone is in your life for a short time, they can leave a very lasting memory. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

I remember ann marie always smiling all the years we danced together. She was quiet and soft spoken but her presence was huge. My heart goes out to the entire family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I danced with AnnMarie for years. I will always remember her smile. She may have been quiet but would always have something funny to say if you listened. A beautiful person is gone but not forgotten. My heart goes out to her beautiful children, her husband and her entire family

I took care of Annmarie very briefly at Bayshore Hospital but it became apparent to me very quickly what a special person she was. She was so smart and personable. I was amazed by her courage and bravery. She was also blessed by a very dedicated and loving family. Her sister was amazing and right by her side every step of the way. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

AnnMarie was a beautiful person inside and out, always sweet and smiling. We met AnnMarie at Learning Tree Preschool 9 years ago, our daughter and son both went there. She had such love for the kids and was excellent with the parents. I remember when she was pregnant with her twin boys, when she became Director at the preschool, and after my kids graduated we always looked forward to seeing her at the UMC VBS in the summer. To Ann Marie's family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I met Ann Marie in middle school when we were in dance class together. I was glad to see her my first day at Hill because I was worried I wouldn't know people, and of course she made me feel welcome. She always had a smile and kind word for everyone. RIP AnnMarie Pierro. I will always remember how much fun it was to be around you. You were full of so much life and energy that it was contagious. Although you left PS 41 early in your career to become a full time mom, you touched the lives of many students and colleagues. To your four boys I would like to say that your mom was a very special lady and loved by everyone who knew her at PS 41.
