I met Bill nearly 40 years ago. He became the standard by which I measured all who were in church educational work. The most creative person I ever met in church work. See you in heaven Bill. You told me that happiness is not having what you want but wanting what you have. You were right.

Once you were a friend with Bill, you were always his friend. I always looked forward to Metro or Mega to learn the new things that Bill had created. What an educational mind he had. We will especially miss Bill's expertise in finding the best restaurants in what ever city we met. We will all miss Bill and there will be an empty place in our hearts for him. Thank you Bill for being a mentor.

Bill lived such a consummate Christ-filled life! He was such an encourager to young men in the ministry. I still remember the day he bought me my first "real" suit as a young college student. He taught me to treat everyone I meet as the "most important person in the world." Thank you Jesus for Bill! Our prayers go out to Brenda, the family and those who knew this giant of a man.

I worked in the print shop at First Southern when Bill was there. He was always smiling and friendly to all who came his way. His ideas for Sunday School were unique and timely. There will never be another Bill Bryan. We will miss his smiling face but know he is rejoicing in heaven. My prayers for Brenda and her family.

I love the picture of Bill. I don't know that I ever saw him without that smile. Bill was the first pastor to call and ask me to come do some training for him. I remember going to my pastor and saying Bill Bryan THE Bill Bryan called and asked me to come do some training for him. I was able to do training for him and with him in many different churches over the years. He was a wonderful mentor, friend and encourager. I will so miss his wonderful hearty laugh. My sympathies and prayers to the family.

What a priviledge to serve alongside of Bill for a season at FBC Atlanta. Although I had met and known Bill before, I really got to know him as we worked together. Bill was always positive, even when conditions were tough. He continued to be encouraging in all situations, and was the man to see when one needed wisdom and affirmation (or gentle correction!). Bill knew just about everybody; where they were and what they were doing. When no one else knew, Bill did.

I will miss him, and every Minister of Education is indebted to Bill Bryan. Thank-you Bill. You were a blessing.

Bill was a wonderful mentor to so many of us called to the ministry of Christian education, a calling we shared with him. A man of charm, wit, devotion, character, integrity, and so much more. May all who loved him take comfort in the confidence that he entered his heavenly Home with unwavering hope and few regrets. We shall see him again. I'm looking forward to it.
