Marvin Rupert Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Marvin Arthur Rupert, Sr., 83, entered into rest February 20, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Evans with Rev. Eddie West officiating. Interment to follow at Pierce Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Glenn Brantley, Larry Rechedy, Ryan Brantley, Chad Brantley, Roy Thompson, Tommy Rupert, and Virgil Payton. Mr. Rupert was born in Putney, West Virginia and was the son of the late Broadus Rupert and the late Norma Morgan Rupert. He lived in Augusta, Georgia most of his life. Mr. Rupert served in the U.S. Army Airforce during World War II. He was a carpenter and contractor. Mr. Rupert also worked as a missile mechanic for Redstone Arsenal for many years. Survivors include: sons; Marvin Arthur "Sonny" Rupert, Jr., Augusta, GA, David Paul Rupert, Martinez, GA, Mark Timothy "Tim" Rupert, Augusta, GA; daughters: Bonnie Rupert Rechedy and husband, Larry, Martinez, GA, Jennie Rupert Brantley and husband, Glenn, Evans, GA; brothers James "Jim" Rupert, Virginia, Donald Rupert, Colorado; sisters Margaret Green, Maryland, Evelyn Jackson, West Virginia; seven grandchildren; Jeremiah Rupert, Melissa Turner, Angie Mann, Jennifer Johns, Ryan Brantley, Chad Brantley, Logan Brantley and ten great grandchildren. Mr. Rupert was preceded in death by his wife June Rupert. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Platt's Funeral Home, 337 North Belair Road, Evans, GA 30809. Sonny, David, Bonnie, Angela.. and the rest of the Rupert family. I'm so sorry about your Dad and granddad..
