Randal Kent Rosacker Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
During high school, Marine Cpl. Randal Kent Rosacker decorated his bedroom in red, white and blue and painted the colors of the flag on his first car. When he turned 18, he had an American flag tattooed on his arm and joined the Marines, turning down scholarships to play college football. "He just wanted to do something for his country and that''s what he did," said his father, Navy Command Master Chief Rod Rosacker. The Camp Lejeune-based Rosacker, 21, died in combat March 23. Rosacker, raised in San Diego, where his wife, Brooke, still lives, was not just a fervent patriot. He was fiercely protective of his two younger sisters and devoted to his family. "He was my mentor _ he taught me to be proud to be an American, he taught me to be thankful I am free, he taught me to be proud to be me," Rosacker''s sister Samantha wrote in a poem.

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let you and your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to the Semper Fi Fund to honor and remember Randal Kent Rosacker US Marine Corporal.

We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

I don't know if Debbie and Rodney remember us or not. You lived in Newport News off Mammoth Oak Drive, and Deb babysat our two daughters, Whitney and Hannah Stokes. Whitney and Sammi were close in age and played together a lot. Randy was like a big older brother too...liked to make the little girls mad! Toni was just a baby.

Anyway, our youngest Hannah is also a Marine, now a Corporal stationed at Cherry Point, who recently returned from Afghanistan. I was doing some reading and came across Randy's name, and I just wanted to say that we are all SO thinking about your family. I guess, based on what Hannah tells us, the Corps gets in your blood. She can't imagine doing anything else.

Anyway, again I wanted to share our condolences. It's a very large world, but can be very small too.

All the best and all our prayers,
Sherry & John Stokes

P.S. You may remember I called your husband "Major Dad"! I always thought he resembled him.

War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,100 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

To my deariest friend and his family,

I remember growing up with Randy and him always talking about how gun-ho he was. He was a great friend and when I heard of what had happend it tore me apart.

RANDY, we miss and love you deeply. Though the little time we knew eachother you impacted mylife. Both living and after death. You and all of soldiers, gone and still fighting are the reason I am thankful I rise my head with no fear. I hope to see you again one day and I can show you how gun-ho I am.

Randy had the laugh that carried through your ears with such peace. Making you smile at his entertainment, even if you had no idea why he was laughing. An amazing athlete and young man...going to school with Randy at Serra, leaves me with happy memories of him. I am glad to have known him. I will forever be heartbroken that he is gone. But I will forever be thankful that he was a determined man who made the choice to fight for our freedom.

Standing in the Quad, chatting away at lunch, watching him during any practice - baseball, wrestling and football. He was skilled at everything. He's still in our hearts. We miss you ROSACKER - as Coach Coons would yell out - I can still him yelling your name on the field. Your memorial at the school is one those in the area should visit when they can. You've touched so many lives, no one will forget.

You are remembered and respected. Thank you Cpl Rosacker!

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

(TASK FORCE TARAWA)

His Battalion was heavily attacked when it went into Nasiriyah, March 23, 2003. Eighteen men in his Battalion were killed on that fateful day, and many more were wounded.

I will never forget March 23, 2003...and your son, who remains in my heart. I have his picture saved...along with the other brave Troops who died that day. My son was there, with your son.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. When I heard of Randy's ultimate sacrifice, it broke my heart. My heart and prayer's to this day go to the Rosacker Family. I don't know how it feels to loose a son or a brother, but i do know what it feels like to loose a brother in arms and no family should ever have to feel that pain. But in this time of loss, his spirit will live on in all the lives Randy has touched.

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

If you need anything, please feel free to contact me!!!
