Bernie thank you for supporting me at The Heights all through the years.
Bernie, Thanks for being a great fan and mentor! Even tho we never got to work in the same building, your support meant a lot!
Annette Houston Bresnahan
Bern, Bern, you were not just my leader, but you were my hero, my mentor, best friend and confidante. You and "your Rose" know more about me than anyone. We had that level of trust that was immeasurable and I am eternally grateful. With your wisdom as a leader you wanted everyone to be a little better than they were the day before. Be both believed that. You not only talked the talk, but you walked the walk. Your dedication to education has reached over 40,000, students, over 5,000 teachers & administrators, over 50,000 community members and beyond. Yes, my friend you have run a superb race, better than most. You are the best of the best. The time has come for you to rest as you pass the torch to others. With genuine love and respect, Keith, Dominic, Chuck & Eula Harris
Thank you, Bernie, for changing my life... you saw all of us as our best selves, and encouraged us to constantly prove your vision to be correct. I will remember you always. Much love to your family.
Sonny touched our family in many ways. He will always be remembered.
Thank you for being the kind, generous, loving man we've all adored for so many years. You set the bar high, Bernie. Thank you for believing in me-you will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
To a GREAT BOSS and an even GREATER FRIEND. I salute you for your devotion to family, friends and your everlasting pursuit of quality education. I will miss you. But know this, my memory is long and when we all gather to re-collect and travel down memory lane, you will bring a smile to my face. With the greatest of respect and admiration. Forever in my heart. With love...
I first met Bernie when I worked as a substitute teacher at Pattonville Heights shortly after he started there. He was always fair and kind and looked out for his staff including the subs. When I went to work for Pattonville in the community relations department, he tried to talk me into coming to work for him as a teacher instead. We had a special relationship. I could always count on him for anything. He was the principal for my children. He was my friend. I have been praying for him daily since I heard of his diagnosis. I pray now for the comfort of him family.
My deepest sympathy for Rosie and the entire family. Sonny was a great man.
Uncle Sonny, You touch so many lives during your lifetime and no one could ever take your place. You've helped each and everyone of us in some form or another. You will NEVER be forgotton. I pray you will be an Angel of strength for Rosie, your children and grandchildren during this difficult time. Love You Always, Michelle, Bobby, & lil David.
To my Uncle Sonny - you have no idea how missed you will be, by so many. I already miss your big smile and especially your wonderful hugs. Your educational accomplishments were an inspiration to me but it was your love of family that will be your lasting legacy. I love you very, very much.
Uncle Sonny, you will be missed by all and are loved by all! I already miss hearing you read in Hebrew. You're amazing and I love you!
To the Epstein family, Bernie was a wonderful man and great friend. I had the pleasure of knowing Bernie for over 30 years. He will be missed. May you all find comfort during your time of sorrow through your family and friends. I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you continue through life without his physical present. Please know he will also be watching over you just as he did in life. Bless all of you!
Please accept my deepest sympathy.
Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
Uncle Sonny, you are going to be missed by so many people! You will never be forgotten! I love you!
