I am so sorry to hear of the passing Mrs. Kingsbury. She was a tremendous teacher. I had her for English and Religious Studies of the East. She had me come back when I was in college to teach yoga to her class! She was so bright , interesting, and witty. My deepest condolences to your family.
Aunt Callie, Thank you...how lucky are of all us, who were loved by you. You will stay with me forever.
Yes, Truly an A grade from Callie was to be touched by the Divine! She rocked her classroom with sincere love for all her students along with a wicked sense of humor and discipline. Beware the raised eyebrow! Thanks for the lessons and priceless memories, Julie Gittings
I have such fond memories of Callie from my time with the Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra. Her laugh was contagious and lifted the spirits of everyone in the room. My deepest condolences to the Kingsbury family.
I will never forget the trip to Greece and how she helped to make the experience unforgettable. She will always be remembered!
I still tell the story of the time Mrs. Kingsbury gave us a pop quiz on "Lord of the Flies" when I was in high school. As she handed the essays back, we were lectured on how bad they were. Only one was worthy of her class and an A grade. She started reading the essay and I recognized it as my own. That alone thrilled me. When she was done, in front of the whole class, she announced, "A's are reserved for God. And Rebecca DiMeo." Then she handed it back. Priceless! You better believe I remember everything she ever taught me... SCAHS Class of '80.
I have such amazing memories of Mrs k from the early 70's at SCASD. I really hated English and Lit until I met her and had her as a teacher! She made the class interesting and fun! She was also such a wonderful role model! Thank you for sharing her with me and all of her other students! she was truly amazing! May your fond memories of her bring you peace!
Callie Kingsbury was one of a kind. She was a women of considerable wit and humor. I delighted in her memorable laugh that seemed to keep a sense of well-being alive. I also treasured her generous spirit and insight as a teacher of my daughter, mother of one of my students, and a friend. Her company was a blessing I will always treasure. My heart goes out to her family.
My heart goes out to all of you; full of love and affection for your amazing mother who shared so much of her wisdom with me and so many others for oh so many years and always somehow found the patience, humor and grit to deal with the 10th grade mind and spirit. Love.
Mrs. Kingsbury was an outstanding teacher and role model. I am forever grateful for a magical 10th grade learning from her and Dr. Wilkerson. That was world class.

Mrs. Kingsbury, without a doubt, was my most favorite teach of all times. She knew how to teach, how to inspire, how to captivate her students. Each class with her was a delight. She was the absolute best.
My condolences to Mrs. Kingsbury's family and friends. I remember her as a wonderfully vibrant teacher at State High in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Her wit and energy were inspiring.
Not a day goes by that I don't benefit from what Mrs. Kingsbury taught me three and a half decades ago. My ability to express my thoughts in writing has been a key factor in my success in business, and I learned a lot of that from Mrs. K. Whenever I see bad writing, my first thought is "clearly they didn't have Mrs. Kinsgsbury in ninth grade." Thank you, and RIP
