I am best friends with your daughter and I just wanted to say that you would be proud of how she has become a wonderful young girl. She misses you a great deal and she has told me about all of the wonderful things you did for her. You were a good man and I would've loved to shake your hand the first time I went over to your daughters house. Today is your birthday sir, and I hope that you are doing well up there in heaven because you were a good man and I will always be there for your daughter, no matter what I promise. Im going to do everything I can to try and be like you. I could never replace you but the least I can do it try. Your daughter, natalie... told me that the one thing about your passing that she is most upset about is the fact that you will never get to walk her down the aisle at her wedding. I promised your daughter I would be there for her and I would walk her down the aisle. I love your daughter sir. She means everything to me. And I just wanted to give my prayers to you. Rest in peace sir. You were a good man and I will try to do my best to be like you and I will be there for your daughter. Always.
When Chris played soccer at UNC his nickname was "Ox", which came from the movie "Stripes". Chris was strong, honest, lovable, talented and very hard working on the soccer field. I'm sure he was the same before and after we played together. We all miss him.
Thinking of Chris as we approach the day of his loss.
Barb Dyett, NJM retired
I had heard that Chris was sick a few months before he passed and was fortunate to share an email with him. I met Chris when we were Freshmen together at UNC. Despite not seeing each other since that time I always remembered him with great happiness. He was a good friend and someone that I feel blessed to have known.
I worked with Chris and NJM for many years as a consultant. He always impressed me as knowledgeable and smart, yet sincere and interested in me personally. And he clearly was loved and respected by his peers at NJM. My sincere condolences, I can only say that you must have wonderful memories.
From St. Ann CYO, to Hamnet, LHS, college, and Alumni games, we either played together or against each other and you always had to respect that great left foot. To a great competitor and gentleman. RIP Chris
I am sorry to hear about your loss. I played soccer with Chris and Keith - via Mercer County Select days and always looked up to him as great player and person. - Chris Sickels (Hopewell & Hunterdon Medical Center)

My condolences to the family of Chris. I worked with him at NJM before I retired eleven years ago. He was a wonderful man and will surely be missed by all. God Bless!
I am SO sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I worked as a vendor for NJM and was very fortunate to have met Chris even as briefly as it was. I knew even with my brief interactions that Chris was a truly admirable man, and the world has been left with a hole in his absence.
Mika, Madeline & Natalie,
I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that Chris was loved and appreciated by so many people. Chris' friendships extended well beyond the average circle of friends that most people have. But what is really special is the way you three ladies have shared him with the rest of us so that we could all, to some degree, have him in our life as a friend, colleague, neighbor, team mate, and any other capicity he could fill. Thanks for sharing him with all of us. I'll never forget him or you.
We attended school together he was a great athlete and a great person. He shared the good from within himself with everyone who's life he touched. Our heart & prayers will be with you all during this difficult time.

I was saddened by the news of Chris' passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris through work and always enjoyed our interactions. He was a principled gentleman who had warmth, a love for his family and a great sense of humor. I will miss him dearly.

RIP Chris!!! I'm sure you will be on God's soccer team!! My prayers are with your family at this tough time!!
I have great memories going back nearly 45 years of playing on Mayflower ave and Bunker Hill, hearing the Colavita's dinner bell ring and watching Chris hightail it home,as a teenager Chris' impression of Rick Ocasek, soccer together through the years and the thrill of competing against each in college. My prayers are with the Colavita family as you celebrate his life and mourne his passing. We too will miss him .
Christopher was a well loved colleague of my husband, John Jeffrey. I had the pleasure of knowing Christopher and was impressed by his humor, kindness and love for his family. I am so sorry to hear this sad news, he will be missed very much.

We had the pleasure of getting to know Chris when he coached my daughter basketball team . It was Giovanna's first time playing, she knew nothing about the gme,but with Chris's sweet ways and amazing patients he allowed my daughter to find, what became, her lifes passion...Basketball. Chris touched so many lives in the time that he was with us,most people live a whole lifetime and never have the ability to make such an impact. Chris was taken way to early, but it is not only important the day one is born or when one passes but rather what one does in the time he is here. Chris, job well done. Our condolences to his family..you were blessed.
Dear Mika, Madeline and Natalie,
We are heartbroken to hear that Chris has passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this difficult time and in the months ahead. We love you.

Its not important the day we r born or the day we pass but rather what we do what we do in the time we r here. Chris, job well done!!!!
It was my loss to have known Chris for such a short period.During that brief time, it was clear that Chris was a person of high standards, absolute integrity, great enthusiasm and a perfect gentleman. No one whose privilege it was to know him is likely to forget the courage of his faith and the warmth of his friendship. To the end he fought with all his heart for what was important to him.Annette and I extend our deepest sympathy to Mika and family during this period of sorrow.

I have had the pleasure of working with Chris over the last 3 1/2 years at NJM. Whether working on a project with Chris or just passing in the hallway, he always had a smile and would extend a greeting. We certainly are a better company for having Chris as one of our top executives and are better people for having shared our time with him. My family will keep Chris and the Colavita family in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks Chris for all you did for us in your short 49 years.

Mika, Madeline & Natalie. We are so sorry for your loss. Chris was a wonderful person. We all are going to miss seeing his smiling face. Thoughts and prayers out to all of you.
I had the pleasure and honor of working with Chris at NJM. As he was ascending the corporate ladder, he would ask me to critique his presentations to the Board of Directors and rehearse with me. He always did well. When I was preparing a seminar for employees on how to make presentations, I sought Chris' input. He was always professional and personable. He will be remembered as a great guy who was enjoyable to work with.
Mika, Madeline & Natalie. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your family. I will keep Chris and your family in my thoughts and prayers. The star that shinned down here for so many of us will now brighten up the sky.

I had the pleasure of serving with Chris on the Workers' Compensation Rating Bureau's Governing Committee. Chris was a consummate professional and a true pleasure to work with. We will miss him.
