Our sincerest sympathy on the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Dave and Mary were long time neighborhood friends. We enjoyed several Kataras block parties listening to Dave play. Used to see them at Tom's every Thurs w/their church group and ours at another table. How lovely they could still be together. They were sweet friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I wish I had been able to get to know Papa. From the stories I've heard, I know I would have loved hm.
I remember Grandpa could tell me everything about his childhood. His house, his dog, his first job, and his love for Bridgeport. I always loved learning about it an talking to him. He could make me smile so easy with all his jokes and his funny faces. He was a very caring and generous man and will always be loved and never forgotten. Thank you, love you.
With deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear father.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. I pray you find strength during this difficult time. Even though there is sadness, I pray that you will be able to celebrate their lives and the wonderful love story they have created.
Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
Two beautiful humans united, Two beautiful souls reunited. They were a real life "Notebook" story. I have very fond memories of both. All of you have my prayers for peace and comfort.
I love you Papa. You will be forever missed, but will surely live on in all of the love, music, and funny faces of everyone in this beautiful family that I am blessed to be a part of. Thank you for always making me laugh with your contagious joy and for never forgetting to tell me how proud you were of me. Some of my fondest memories are going for rides in your many fabulous cars, listening to you play my favorite song on the piano, and sitting at the kitchen table listening to the police radio with you. Love you, Emily
I imagine Mr. Colby is playing the accordion for God and there will be polka dancing in heaven as part of the celebration! My dad will certainly be glad to see an old friend to share stories of the good old days!! Mr. Colby, you will be missed! Love and sympathies to the Colby family!
When we went on family vacations in the camper you built, you always said "Someday you'll thank me for this experience." You're right - thanks Dad! Thanks also for the rides on the handle bars of your bike, for putting us up on the roof of the garage to look at the stars and scare Mom when she came home, for all your inventions and innovations, for your love of Mom and all of us. Thanks for the big bear hugs, the music lessons and for being able to fix just about anything. Thanks for the trips to the car shows and ice cream shops. I will miss the way you called all of your daughters, no matter how old, "little girl." You were a wonderful, loving, talented man. I love you. Cindy
Thanks for all the wisdom, laughs, music and love you sent my way. I love you and will miss your smiling face always. I am using your words to say "I had the best parents in the world". Mary Pat
To Anna and the entire Colby family.
Our sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your father. Take pride on his many strengths and talents he passed on to all of you.
We will always remember him as a kind and caring man who was there for anyone who needed help, including the Carmodys when having car problems.
He was a good man and no doubt will be watching over all of you from his place in heaven.
We are very sorry we cannot be with you as you celebrate his life, but know that you are all in our hearts and prayers.
To Cindy and siblings,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your families during this time.
My sincere sympathy to you and your family regarding the loss of your father.
Love to all,
You made it possible for me to have a wonderful life with you. You were a role model for me in the way you lived your life. Good things happen with hard work and you proved that with your many talents and accomplishments. You were fun to be around because of your humor, strange faces, and just the way you fixed things with good ole duct tape. You changed the looks of the house many times to make it a unique home to grow up in. Your musical talent always amazed me and you were probably the biggest gear head to live in our town. You had many friends because you treated them with kindness and respect, always ready to help someone fix something. You were always available if I needed help with anything. I'm glad you were able to see me retire. I only hope that my retirement comes close to the 32 years you and Mom were able to enjoy together. You raised us well and I am so fortunate to be part of this family. I will miss you until I no longer can. I am a better person because of you. Your presence will be with me always.
Love you Papa
Love You Dad!
Music, the piano, the accordion, your band, playing with inner tubes, cars, a gas line in the fireplace....a lot of good memories...I am thankful that you jammed on the accordion at our Clinton reception and that we Paul bros got to jam with you at Mom and Dad's 40th anniversary party.. Those are some of my favorite memories....thanks for the times, hugs, funny faces and just being a super cool grandpa. :)
Inner tubes, cars, the piano, the accordion, the gasline in the fire place, music....thanks for the memories...and for playing the accordion for our Clinton reception...and jamming The Entertainer on the piano whenever I asked you to....and for being an awesome grandpa.

Dad or G.O.D. (Good Ole Dad as you signed so many of your cards!),
I could not imagine a better father. You were the definition of devotion to your family, especially to Mom. You were sometimes the definition of stubbornness too! You made us all better people because of your love, your words, and your actions. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I miss you and I love you.
Thanks for your guidance, your music, your funny faces, your bear hugs, your faith and your everlasting love. You will never be forgotten.
Love You, Mary B. - "Did we say grace yet?" - YES, and every time we do, we will thank God for you!

Sorry about the loss of the amazing Mr. Colby. I will remember him puttering around the garage, playing accordion for parties at the Tivoli, and offering a warm smile to everyone. Mary Pat once brought over a CD of his piano playing to use in the background of your Tahoe video. I was struck by how beautifully he played and how pleasant it must have been to listen to that growing up. The Colby family soundtrack! I kept his songs on my computer and I'm listening to him play Somewhere Over The Rainbow right now. What a gift he had! I'm happy I got to know him and the entire Colby family. I love you all. My thoughts are with you.
Love you Papa, you will be missed so much. I will never forget the joy of the sound of piano in our home and yours as a child. Each time I sit to play, I feel connected to you. It is truly a miracle how music can bring us all together.
I'll miss you Dad - your memory will live on in all who loved you.
Cathy & Family
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy to travel the road as you go down this path. Like a sea shell our loved ones leave an emptiness where they once resided and a reminder of the person they were in the shell they leave behind.
As the days go by we remember in many ways:
It is those memories that whisper back to us as we walk along the road of life, the whisper from the tree tops, a ray of sunshine, a wisp of a smile from a younger generation in the family all reminders and touches from our loved one.
You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. May the Holy Spirit spread his wings of peace and comfort over you during this time and in the days to come.
I am here for you.
Thanks for everything Dad! You will always be in my heart. I'm going to miss your big, warm hands, hugs & smiles. I've listened and yes, you're right.
Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
