First met Don as a newly hired Engineer at Pratt & Whitney in 1961 and car pooled with him for a couple of years. I have two great memories of this friendship: First was an invitation to Christmas dinner for this displaced Texas lad 1100 miles away from family. Second was for Barbara introducing me to my future wife, Billie, when they both worked at First Marine Bank. Forty six years later, I am still eternally grateful for that. We lost touch over the years, but these memories linger on. Condolences from Billie and Wayne.
I've known Don for over 43 yrs now. The first time I met him I went to pick up GIGi for a date, and he was working on a car outside in a heavy downpour. I thought that was pretty funny at the time, but after spending a little time around a house with 4 generations of woman, I started to understand his quiet wisdom!
He was a kind and gentle man, who unlike many folks today, actually lived by what he believed in. While we may not have always agreed over our long relationship, I always have considered him a good friend, and an exceptional husband, father, and grandfather.
If good people go to a better place after life on this planet, I'm sure Don is there!
