I recall a lifetime of pleasant admiring memories starting in first grade at Sacred Heart School,to playing marbles in the dirt, to Pensacola High, to his service as my children's pediatrician,to our reunion lunches at Hall' Restaurant. What a legacy he has left! My deepest sympathy to Nell and the family. May his many fond memories sustain you until you meet again. God Bless.

The John D. Harris send their deepest condolences to the Bell family. Our paths crossed Reed and Nell when Our Mother's Home was formed. Our lives were enriched and bless by their Godly witness to us and our community. As my mother Beverly would say Reed has now received the biggest promotion of His life and is now in the presence of His Lord. What a legacy he has left for his family and our community.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Bell Family as we all mourn the loss of a great man.
So sorry for your loss. Reed was a fine man. You are in our thoughts.
Ken, Billy, Mitzi, Terry, Lance and Brian, I was sadden by the passing of your dad, my pediatrician and friend. He was a lifelong friend of dad (Shorty) and family as you all are . . . I remember the house calls he made when we were sick and the stories of old that were shared about he and dad growing up, as he attended to our needs! A great physician, caring for the needs of others, loving husband and father. My prayer is that the days, weeks and years ahead be joyously filled with stories, thoughts and memories of those times with your dad, and that those Dr. Bell attributes continue in the lives of all those he knew! Your mom, and you all are in our prayers.
It's been a blessing to know Reed Bell. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bell family.
I worked for Dr.Bell from 1963 till 1967 after my husband got transferred and it was the more incredible experience after graduation from Sacred Heart. His office manager and I, Hilda, stayed intouch for YEARS later. He was an incredible MD and taught me so much about Pediatrics. Sympathy to his entire Family. Gerry Hurd

The Bell Family,
Dr. Bell was a great doctor and a great man. He was the pediatrician for Haner girls and we loved him so much. I remember Dr. Bell sitting at St. Christopher's with his family and having the Bell boys laugh when our father, John Haner, would fall trip down the steps after communion - which he did on more than one occasion! We remember seeing Dr. Bell calmly sending "an elbow" down the line!!! The Haner Family
So sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Bell. He was our childrens Doctor for many years. A dear sweet man whom I was greatful for. Our prayers to all the family . Richard and Joan ward
Dr. Bell was a great man, kind, gentle, generous, brilliant and so many other words that my limited vocabulary isn't adequate to enumerate.
He was also one of the finest student-athletes to ever attend Pensacola High School. It was humbling to be in his presence the night his football jersey was retired. Everyone who knew him was greatly enriched.
To his children, may God grant you peace in this time of great loss. Reed Bell's tremendous legacy lives on though you.
I am so honored that I had a chance to meet and take care Mr and Mrs Bell in 2010. He is a selfless, amazing person. Even through the battles, he still had a smile on his face that would light up the room. One of the most foundest memories I have if him is listening to him tell his storys about working in the NICU. He truly loved what he did. Condolences to the family. He will be missed by many.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Father. He was a great man who I had the pleasure of knowing personally through you and though his practice. He touched so many over the years including my family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your Mother, and your brothers and sisters during this difficult time.
Ken and Vicki,
I wanted to express my sympathy in the loss of your father and let you know that I am praying for you and your family.
Dear Bell Family, the entire Family of Helen and Herman White
grieves with you over the loss of another great Pensacolian. He
was a kind Doctor and good friend to all of us. Our thoughts and
prayers are with you as we all celebrate a life well lived.
You are an amazing family. I grew up with you guys and spent many fun nights with you. Terri was my best friend. I was always amazed with the incredible patience your dad and mom had with all of us. Dinner time was crazy, but everybody had a job to do. Kind of like the Walton's. I think of you often and wonder where you are and how your lives have turned out. Your family was such a positive influence. Terribly sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss, I went to grammar school with him, he good man.
Dr. Bell was trusted, dedicated physician to me and my three brothers growing up in Pensacola. His kindness and generosity of spirit made a deep impression on me as a young child. I thank God for his llife filly lived, and pray God's peace upon his family.
Such memories of watching him and Sister Carol go room to room taking care of sick children. I worked 3-11 so I would see them into the night. Such love they gave everyone.
Ken and family,
I did not know Dr. Bell, but it's clear he was a great man who touched many lives. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Justice and Mrs. Bell and Family,
My heart is with you. What a wonderful legacy to cherish now and always. Peace be with you.
Our infant son, Dennis was critically ill, and was being treated by another pediatrician. We made a difficult decision to take him to Dr. Bell. Dr. Bell immediatelly reversed the treatment Dennis was under and started a regimen that was the beginning of a steady improvement. Simply put, he saved Dennis' life. When we met him in the Emergency Room for treatment of our seriously ill son, we explained that we had spent all we had on the other doctor and hospital bills. Dr. Bell immediately put our minds to rest. He said, "Let's not worry about that now. Let's get this baby well." What a relief that was. This was almost 55 years ago. Dennis is now a healthy, athletic grandfather. What an amazing doctor!!
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
I am so sorry to hear that your Dad died.
I always remember working with Dr. Bell at Sacred Heart in early 70s. His kind manner and true professionalism was a shining light in many lives. He was truly one of a kind. God bless the family in their loss.
RIP DR. BELL
Such a sweet, caring man. He took care of me & my siblings.

What a wonderful man! This community was blessed to have such an outstanding man living here. We will surely miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Dr Bell was my pediatric physician during the 1960's, a true healer who combined compassion with medical expertise to consistently achieving successful patient outcomes. I also had the pleasure of working alongside Mrs Bell on legislative issues in the early 1970's - - she was always gracious as she was sharp on the issues. Our condolences go out to Mrs Bell and family but surely they are comforted that Dr Bell is now with his Lord and Saviour who is The Great Physician that Dr Bell patterned his life after.
What a wonderful person. It was an honor and pleasure just knowing him.
Dr. Reed Bell personified the Great Physician as a member of The Focus on the Family Physician's Research Council. Humble but strong, he served as God's servant to families in 108 countries throughout the world.
It was an honor to work in support of his work with the PRC.
What great memories we have of our times with Reed and Nell at Focus on the Family, Physician Resource meetings and functions in years past. People like the Bells don't come along very often, so to know them is such an honor. He will be so missed. We love you Nell.
God Bless Your Family in this time of loss. Heaven truly has another wonderful member. He was my doctor and he saved my life as an infant.I will truly be happy to see him in Heaven when all saved saints join together there. My grandmother was Agnes Whitney,R.N. And I remember being told that Terry, would visit her with her little newborn. She cherished those visits and looked forward to them so much. My beautiful sister, Lynda Nagel would be there somtimes to visit too. She also was the babysitter for the younger Bell's at times. We all have been touched by this wonderful family. Love and God's peace Leesa (Nagel) Schroeder,Lynda Nagel
My thoughts are with your family during this difficult time.
I have known Reed since 1986 when I came to Pensacola. Reed was very supportive and welcoming. I will always remember him as my mentor and friend. His passing is a big loss to your family, to our pediatric society, and to the community.
Reed has finished his mission on earth, a job well done. He is now back to home with God.
May God bless your family.
Helen Hsiang, MD
One of the most genuine, concerned and compassionate people we've known, who throughout his medical career, poured out large doses of love and care to the children in Pensacola. We will miss you for a while, but look forward to seeing you again.
One of the greatest men I have ever known! Reed, and his incredible Nell, were like beacons of light to my wife and I. Reed was a man full of God's wisdom, blessed with knowledge that he shared with so many, vision that has left a legacy and a heart of service that has been a role model for so many. I loved this man and enjoyed working with him on so many initiatives. May you rest in Peace. Reed, see you in Heaven some day! Your brother in Christ forever.
What a true honor it was to know and work with Dr. Bell while at Sacred Heart Hospital. That honor continues with my present mission and work in partnership with Terry, a most loving daughter. I just remember that each time I heard a child had Dr. Bell as his/her physician, ALL would be well. Even in his later years, serving with me on the Board of Healthy Start, again, Dr. Bell's integrity, goodness, love of children and respect for life shined ever so brightly. It is so very true... Dr. Bell did not put his light under a bushel basket, but let it shine for all to see. His light ultimately shone for love of his Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Praise God for such a "Good and Faithful Servant."
Pensacola has lost a fine man and a wonderful doctor. He took care of my four children. I often still quote him to my children and grandchildren. My deepest sympathy to Nell Ann and her family. Dolores Anderson (Gambill) Pare'
