You may or may not remember me; I used to live with Lyle Haring - John Zwiebel.

I am presently living in Italy and working for the US Navy as a Military Base Planner for Europe. I am scheduled to return back to the states in February 2014 after living here for the past 3 years. I have been married for almost 9 years now and we have no children. My favorite memories of you and Fred; coming over and me cooking for all of us. It was good times and I want to say I am sad with your loss. God bless your family during this time.

Prayers to the family and may you all celebrate the wonderful deeds and accomplishments of his life. He will be missed by many. Most recently we enjoyed sharing pews on Sunday morning at DeWitt Methodist--seems so long ago.

To the Family of Fred Gerdes,

We were saddened to hear of Uncle Freddie's passing. Your sorrow is our sorrow as well. We especially remember with fondness and laughter, all the many years Fred and Doris and the boys came to South Dakota for pheasant hunting. Great fun was had by all.
We're sorry we can't be with you at this time, but our prayers go out to you.
Love Always,
Dave and Jan Bunt and our boys, Jeff, Gary, Doug and Brad

To the Gerdes family,
So sorry for your loss. I am happy that I had a nice visit with Fred at Westwing a little over a week ago. He certainly contributed lots of time to the school with his athletic activities and school board. We teachers really appreciated his support. Of course being a member of the BS Club leads to many great memories and you kids always managed to come for the food. He had a tough time these past few years taking care of Doris and not tending to his own health problems. He is not suffering any pain now and knows that Doris is well taken care of at the Nursing Home.

To the Gerdes family, you have my deepest sympathy and prayers. He was a great man and I enjoyed working with him during the fairs. May he rest in peace and you find comfort that he is no longer hurting and is resting in the arms of the lord.

To the Gerdes Family,
What a special guy. His dedication to his family, CHS and DeWitt community was outstanding.
We stopped to see Fred recently and enjoyed discussing many memories. Fred's assistance at football games and track meets, etc. was invaluable.
Our sincere sympathy to family.

To all the Gerdes boys and family you have my sympathy. I have very fond memories of your dad and all of you when I was growing up. He is probably up there with my dad and mom sharing all the stories about all the trips they went on together and all the fun they had with the BS club on Sunday nights. May he RIP.
