F. “F.” T.

Neat as a pin
That's how he liked it
Everything labeled
Nothing misplaced

A towel per day
A hangar per shirt
Firewood stacked
neat as a pin

Life had a schedule
Step one before two
That's how he lived it
Neat as a pin

Instead he faded
Gone but still here
No schedule no steps
neat as a pin

Relentless mortality
gradually wins
No exact exit
neat as a pin

At misplaced moments
he sends us his face
Memories not stacked
neat as a pin

We feel a jumble
of joyful dismay
No label to hold it
neat as a pin

The sun will rise
The sun will set
One towel one shirt
Neat as a pin

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
That's how he liked it
Neat as a pin

Laura, you know how much I adore Fritz. I will always treasure the many times that the two of you let me be the "third wheel". And of course, I'll never forgot our "contract" - he was my back-up! I am heartbroken for you and for all of us that will miss him dearly. Love you. Lisa and Dave

Fritz was always a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail along with his sense of humor made him one of the best people in the real estate business. He will be missed by many.

The 2 Lane black top road that was Salem Pike was being replaced by a 4 lane concrete road along with new sewers. It was summer,1956, we had just moved to Salem Pike, I was 9. I had lifted the heavy grate off the sewer and climbed down about 12 feet to the bottom looking for minnows - (Yes, there WERE minnows in the storm sewers then!) Shortly, a shadow came over the sewer entrance and when I looked up there was this kid my age. That was when I met Fritz Turton. We lived across the street from each other all our young lives. Fritz was, even at that age, a principled, friendly and very hard working kid. He would consistently study 2-3 hours a night - way too much for me! He wasn't just smart he was a hard worker, even then. I guess all these nice things said of him here, about his later years, don't surprise me, he was pretty much the same all his life. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.

I met Fritz when I began working at Bunnell Hill Construction. Fritz quickly became more than just a mentor, he became a friend. I have long felt my professional life greatly improved by having crossed paths with Fritz. He will be missed.

Fritz and I grew up together, delivered newspapers together and were in boy scouts together. I had a few dealings with him as I was in real estate sales and he was in commercial construction with Bunnell Hill. He will be sorely missed and my contolences go out to his family. I will be out of town and will not be able to attend the service.

Sincerely,
Harry Eberle, Jr.

Laura, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. I met Fritz during the construction of The Beach. I smile in saying that in our first encounter we butted heads, because I came to admire him greatly. He was smart, fair, driven to excellence. He never hesitated to address challenges or state a hard truth, even if it was politically risky to do so. His wit and sense of irony were always present. I am proud to have known him and had the opportunity to work with him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of your loss.

Laura,
My prayers and thoughts are with you in the loss of Fritz.
Although we drifted apart in later years, I will always consider him one of my "Best Friends". We had a lot of great times together. All our NASCAR trips and the many years we spent working together, will always be with me. He was a Great Guy and I will keep him in my heart and prayers always.

I got to know Fritz when we worked together while I was the receiver on the Kenwood Towne Place project. I will always remember his expertise, methodical follow through, and - most memorably - his good humor. Fritz was tremendously supportive when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and generously shared his knowledge in that particular area as well. I will miss him, and will continue to pray daily for him as I have for the last couple of years.

Dear Laura & family;
It seems like yesterday that Fred and I worked together at IBM although it was more than 40 years ago.We shared a lot of good and bad times together but I will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and dedication to doing a good job. He was an outstanding friend and associate. The Perpetual Light just got a little brighter.

They may be gone from our sight, but never our hearts.
May God's comfort be with the family.
