My deepest sympathies go out to Jamie's family. We had lots of great conversations at the college. I will miss his charming way of cheering all in his path. Great guy who touched so many lives.

I got to know Jamie a bit at Weight Watchers a few years back and enjoyed talking with him at meetings. I was so saddened to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to his many loved ones and friends.
I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with Jamie during the Michigan Fire Instructor I course in Negaunee. His personality was truly magnetic. I send my condolences to his daughter who he spoke so fondly of and to the citizens who he protected. Go in peace brother fire fighter.
Dear Samantha and Family:
My husband Lew and I send our sincere condolences. I had just met Jaime the week before, selling raffle tickets with him at the Super One. My son is also a firefighter. Jaime kept us going through the hours of selling tickets to the Greenbay Packers Tailgate Tour. Jamie's presence and humor will definitely leave a void in all who have met him.
I along with the Deputies of the Gogebic County Sheriff's Office join in extending Heartfelt Sympathy to you and your family at this Time of Sorrow.
Our thoughts and prayers to Sam, family and friends....hugs your way.
My husband and I have lived next to Jamie for the last 7 1/2 years. He was a wonderful person, always having smile on his face. He will be missed by many. May his family be graced with strength through this very difficult time. With our deepest sympathy, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
When one brothers passes away, we all mourn, no matter how far away they are or if we didnt know them.
RIP brother, watch over us always everytime the house siren screams for another call.
From your brothers at the Womelsdorf Vol Fire Dept.
urday, March 08, 2014My deepest sympathy to Sam, his family and his friends. You are all In my heart and prayers. Jamie you will be dearly missed and always loved. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of your life these past few years. I will never forget your smile! One of a kind! You will always have a place in my heart and soul.
Our sincere condolences to Sam, the entire family, friends and fellow firefighters of our fallen brother IVFD Captain Peite. Not only was Jamie at present a Captain in the IVFD but also a past Assistant Chief and of course the Chief of our neighboring Ironwood Township FD. His passion for the fire service was unmatched! He recently received his instructor's certificate from the State of Michigan and was a skilled and popular teacher. He was also an experienced and well respected firefighter. You could enter any fire scene without worry if you knew that Peite had your back! His passing is such a shock and so unexpected! Words sometimes fail us. Just know that he was loved and respected by us of the IVFD and his passing leaves us all a bit empty.
My sincere condolences to all the Chief's family, friends and comrades in the fire service. His passion for the fire department was only exceeded by the love for his daughter. He was a life force unto himself. He lived life to the fullest and with gusto! And as he said if Gusto wasn't up to it he'd do it without him! His sense of humor and compassion will be what I most miss. No matter how horrible a mood I was in he would have me belly laughing so hard tears would stream down my cheeks. Just last week at our regular Sunday breakfast get together he had the entire table laughing and the ones surrounding it too! A brilliant raconteur, he was also skilled at voices, sounds and imitations of the famous and not so famous. He will never be replaced and his death leaves a huge void in my universe. I'm so very sorry for your loss, and I pray that God's guiding hand leads you to happier times. He will never be forgotten.
