I was late in seeing the newspaper obituary of Max Schiebold, otherwise I would have attended the funeral services.
Max's passing is indeed sad news. He was not only a friend of my late parents but also a friend of mine. His service to the City of Lincoln Park, and Downriver in general, needs no elaboration from me. Quite often I would see and greet Max and his dear wife Ethel while out for dinner -- it was always a pleasure to see the both of them and to chat. My deepest sympathy goes out to Ethel and the family. I will miss Max.
Grandpa Schiebold will be missed so very much! He welcomed me to the family from the first time that I met him and grandma. Grandpa used to ask me how I was and would accept nothing less than "excellent" as an answer with a laugh and a smile. I know he's doing excellent now with God and we are all missing him. What a wonderful thoughtful man he was.
Our Dear Uncle Max. A true Gentleman. I was proud to know him as a friend and co-worker.
My Deepest sympathy to the family. What a very special person!! Had the pleasure of working with Uncle Max
