On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), we offer our sincere condolences to Karen and all of Peter's family and friends as you mourn his passing. May God whisper peace into your hearts, comfort, and heal them. We are grateful for Peter's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Cold War on the USS Nathanael Greene SSBN-636. To our “Brother of the Dolphin” we say … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
So, heavenly Father add his name to the roll
Of our departed shipmates still on patrol.
Let them know that we who survive
Will always keep their memories alive.
Bless those who serve beneath the deep,
Through lonely hours their vigil keep.
May peace their mission ever be!
Protect each one, we ask of Thee.
Bless those at home who wait and pray
For their return by night and day.
Peter Ulysses Charbonneau, MT2(SS), US Navy, Now on Eternal Patrol.

I am so sad to learn of Pete's passing. We worked together for a long time at GE/etc... He was a great person to work with. Thinking of him laughing makes me smile, even now. My thoughts are with his family and all the many people he has touched in his life.
Papa Pete is my Grandson's Papa. He told me that he was very sad and when I asked why, he told me that he had lost his Papa Pete. I great man has left us but can now look over us.
It was really sad news to hear about Pete's death. Before I retired from Williams College I saw Pete many times on campus. He always had a wave and smile for everyone. He was a great guy. Rest in peace Pete. You'll be remembered by many. Prayers for your family and loved ones at this very sad time in their lives.
Pete was a great guy. I used to have the desk right next to him during the GE/Lockheed Martin days. He was a great mentor to me. God Bless you Pete.
