This is a message from Kenneth W. Ehrke and I speak for the entire Ehrke family: Myself I worked at Industrial steel for a 1 year period and Leon was exactly as everyone describes him he was a source of comfort; when you were with him you felt secure because he was some kind of a power source if you will and he took control of the situation! Many of you we have not met, however, I feel as though that we know each other because of Leon. Rest in peace, father, brother, and good friend. The Ehrke family.
So sorry to all of you. May wonderful memories help you through this difficult time. Aunt Bonnie please contact me. Shirley Clasen Ford
The loss of Dad has been the hardest experience of my life. He was a Lion of a man and he was the patriarch of our family. He always faced each and every challenge sent his way without backing down. Dad tried to find solutions and solve problems for each and every one of his children throughout his entire life.
We are all going to miss him, and his determination, his drive, his laughter, and his intense presence and influence.
I love and miss you Dad.
I am so sadden by my brothers passing and I know what a wonderful man he was. He was kind and helpful when my son died. I know he has joined the rest of the family members with our Lord
Bonnie and all my nieces and nephews and their family's I will be praying for you and keep you in my thoughts.
God Bless you all.
Dear Mrs. Mehalic, Carole, Doretta, Mark and all the Mehalics,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I remember "Leon," as a big, strong, handsome guy.
I can still hear his thunderous voice and his loud laugh. I also see that sparkle in his eye. He could get angry, but I also saw his gentle heart inside.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathies for your family's loss. Our father, Kenneth Ehrke, and brother Keith Ehrke worked for over 20 years for Leon at Industrial Steel and had the utmost respect for him and his family. Sadly, we too, lost our dad on September 8 of this year due to complications from bladder cancer. He's with our mom now, who passed 3 years ago this month.
Mark, Fran Tiffany & Morgan,
So very sorry for your loss - Our sincere condolences. Hugs to all of you. Eileen, Daryl & Matt Dishong
It was a joy taking care of Mr. Mehalic. I could spend hours talking to him, listening to stories about his wonderful children, and hearing his wisdom and life advice. It was obvious to all who met him how much he truly adored his wife. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Mehalic's family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
My family and I are saddened to hear of the death of my uncle Leon. He was my God Father, a good friend of our father Paul Schmelter, and a good example to me. I have many fond and happy memories of him, my aunt, and cousins. He will be sorely missed.
I find that today is a bitter sweat day. We are sad at his loss, but find joy and peace in the fact that his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will allow him eternal rest in heaven.
On the sad days to come, we will be praying for comfort and peace for my Aunt Bonnie and all her family...my cousins and their families. Know we love you and our prayers are added to yours.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
