I was honored and privileged to know and work with Russell throughout my 23-year career as Village Clerk of the Village of Lake Orion.
I first became associated with Russell through his partnership with the legal firm representing the Village, Parenti, Treinen, Greenlees and Bunting. In the early years of my tenure, Russell capably represented the Village in legal matters as a member of that firm. Later, it is my recollection, he formed a new partnership, Greenlees & Bailey, with offices in Lake Orion.
I moved away from the Lake Orion area in 1994, and it is only recently, and with great sadness, that I learned of Russell's passing.
I shall always remembers him as a fine, caring, gentleman, and a treasured friend who was deeply interested in the welfare of the Village of Lake Orion and its residents. May he rest in peace.
Just read the nice story and comments about my cousin Russ and his years of service to Lake Orion. He will be remembered and missed by many. Russell and the extended Greenlees family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Russell was larger than life when I first met him. Hundreds of paperback books, and an endless knowledge about firearms, military tactics, and esoteric science. He and his brother put the "person" in personality. Nothing but the most positive thoughts about both of them. Class acts.
We remember Russell and his fun loving personality and the good times we spent with him in Irene.
