John was always smiling and friendly with me as we worked together in the late '90's. I am sorry to hear of his passing from this life to the next. To his family, may The Lord's peace be with you through your adjustment to this loss.
We are sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
Our Parents were told they might never have children. The Lord gave my Parents Salvatore John on May Seventeenth (5-17)--on our Fathers (also Salvatore John)Birthday May 17th (5-17)at 5:17a.m. My Parents knew then they had a special guy! My Brother was my "Point Man", he was the "Go To" guy, he was my everything. As he told my Family and I often.....you gotta "Believe!". Keep the Faith! Love Always-
Very saddened at the passing of a long lost friend! I worked with John at West Coast Regional Water Supply Authority. It was John and his wonderful personality that convinced me to work on a project that really helped me in developing an excellent career. I know that John touched a lot of people. I am happy that I was one of them. Guess the light from above just got a lot brighter.
I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. Thinking of his family during this difficult time. Peace, Prayers & Blessings...
My thoughts & prayers go out to John's family, friends, and co-workers. I got the liberty to work with John for the last 12 1/2 years and am happy to call him a dear friend.
We got to enjoy a nice supper in Chicago last October with John & Marla and we had a blast!
John always came into City Hall with a smile on his face and could make a bad day much better by just being in the room. He LOVED to talk about his grandson and family, and I enjoyed listening. I could go on and on about the stories he would tell, but you already know what a great guy he was.
I, along with my co-workers, Mayor, & council will miss John tremendously. I will never hear the words I loved to hear almost every week again - "Happy Friday". He will be missed so much by so many people!
My deepest sympathy to John's family. John's smile and wit will be missed.
We were so sorry to hear about John and wish we could attend his Mass, but we are in South Carolina this week. Know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Stunned and saddened to hear of John's passing at a much too young age. Condolences and deepest sympathies to Chris, Marla and family.
John gave us all great memories and he was a big help to my son in Scouting. He was always upbeat and always had a kind word to say, he was my friend and he will be missed.
Extremely saddened to hear of John's passing. I remember him as a dear friend to my oldest brother and how well he treated me when I was the batboy for the local Ban Johnson baseball team that he played for in Kirksville, MO. My thoughts and prayers are with Marla and his family
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mr. Calise on the Macon, MO disinfection project. His professionalism and engineering integrity made him a pleasure to work with and garnered respect. My thoughts are with his family.
May the wonderful memories bring you comfort as you go through these difficult times. John was always one of my favorites to see at the Kirksville reunions, it didn't matter how long it had been since we had all been together, he always greeted you as though it had just been yesterday! Love and prayers to you all.
Just look at all of these wonderful comments... I am so thankful for the light & example that John was to those whose lives he touched! I am confident that he is experiencing full joy right now. For all of us family & for his dear friends who live on, may the "peace that passeth all understanding guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus", as you wait in hope of being reunited with him again in glory.
So sorry to hear of John's passing. Thoughts and prayers to Marla and family.

My condolences to John's family and co-workers at Benton & Associates. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I always enjoyed working with him.
My prayers are offered, but not necessary for John Calise, because John left a living legacy. John modeled everyday, in everyway what a servant of God should look like while on this earth. I was fortunate to have known him and to have seen first hand his love and dedication to his entire family, his love for helping others through his work and especially his love of you Marla. John, your days here are done, and you will be sadly missed. It seems that God has other plans for you, and they must be great ones.
Our heart goes out to John's family & friends at this time and in the days ahead. May God be with you
I am deeply saddened by John's passing. I have known John for many years through our work in the waterworks field, and his expertise and friendship will be greatly missed. As said in John's obituary, his smile was always a welcoming greeting and will not be forgotten. To his family and co-workers, please accept my sincere condolences. Rest in peace, John.
I am writing this with a heavy heart. Remember when we were little John and we would visit you in Missouri and have a wonderful time just being kids? Not to mention the trouble we got into also. Definitely couldn't visit without our game or three of baseball thrown in there daily. We had a blast, didn't we cousin? Then we grew up and you became a wonderful husband and father. A perfect example for all to follow. You will be missed John. My condolences to the family. Love you and God Bless
Condolences to the Calise and Benton Associates families. Though I only knew for just over a year, I found him to be a prince of a guy, with a warm and sincere personality. He will be missed. Take care in knowing that the world is a better place from him being in it.
Words cannot express the sympathy we have for your family. I have the utmost respect and adoration of a man I called co-worker and friend. He will be missed, greatly. It is our prayer that the sustaining grace of our Lord and Saviour will strengthen you in this time.
John is one of the most decent, caring people I have ever worked with. He is in Heaven now. God Bless him and his family.
I'm just heartbroken to hear about John's passing. He's been a good friend and colleague for many years. This is significant loss for so many communities, organizations and friends with whom he had such a positive impact. My most heartfelt sympathy to his family and work family. Gone, but never forgotten.
My deepest sympathies to your family. John was my first boss and helped mold me into the engineer I am today. I will always remember the key bits of advice he would give. He will be missed greatly. My prayers go out to you.
Although my contact with Mr. Calise was limited as I am the secretary for the City of Macomb Public Works Department I found him to be so easy to work with when I had questions. My sincere sympathy to his family at this time. The Lord bless you all at this time.
May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.
I am truly sorry to hear of your loss. John was a wonderful man, trusted member of our team and a very good friend. John was kind, generous and caring. He is going to be missed. May God Bless the Calise family.
We were stunned to hear of John's death. He was such a friendly, happy person. We will miss him at Rotary, and we will miss his great smile. You are in our thoughts ans prayers.
Our thoughts & prayers are with John's family & friends at this most difficult time. It was evident he was a man of God in the way he treated others. May God now comfort them in their loss.
When we lived in Jacksonville, John and I got to know each other through Rotary, and our daughters were friends. John and I use to meet for lunch and pray for our girls. What a good man.... he loved his family so much, and was not afraid to share his faith. I'm certain he has heard the welcoming words of our Lord, Jesus Christ: "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
We are so sorry to hear about John. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We will always remember John for his wonderful smile and his friendliness.
Terry and Debbie Neathery
