I enjoyed my time working with Bill at SunTrust. He was always willing to help and share his knowledge and contacts. My prayers go out to Barbara and his family.

Even though I knew Bill was very ill, I hoped he would be able to fight this terrible desease. I will miss our fun times working with him while he was President of the FBA Trust Division and our trips to Washington with you too. Just know I am here for you if ever I can help. God Bless you both and his family too.

Thank you, Barbara, for giving us the opportunity to express our thoughts regarding Bill. He was the most upbeat individual and had a good word for everyone. He had great curiosity, and he took professional interest in his trust work. He was always so comfortable to be with socially. He will be missed both in his person and his E-mails, but what great memories he left us. God bless him and his time on this earth and may God be with you. Love, Herb and Betty-Bruce Hoover

In the short time that I cared for Bill-it was a pleasure. He & Barbara welcomed me into their home as if I was family. I will miss all the stories Bill would tell me of his life! Every time I hear anything about Ohio State or The Buckeyes I'll think of Bill with fond memories! Barbara, you & the family (Meeko included) are in my thoughts & prayers.

My Dad made his transition from this world to the next surrounded by family. While this is a sad occasion, I wish to remember the good times. Family trips to Disney World, Meeting Don Shula in 1971 (before the Super Bowls), Meeting Jack Nicklaus and President Ford (while he worked the Inverrary Golf Classic). When my VW Beetle got totaled, he fixed it up and drove it to the Yacht Club. When he came to visit me in college at the University of Florida, he came decked out in Ohio State regalia. Later, when he would go on trips to San Francisco or to The Masters in Augusta, he would always remember something for his granddaughters. When his granddaughters would come to visit, he would always let me know he had turned the heat on in the pool (even in Summer), but it was still too cold for him. It will be hard to watch the Dolphins, the Browns, and the Buckeyes this fall. It will be harder still this June for what would have been his 75th birthday and Father's Day, in August for his 26th Anniversary, and next spring when he is not there for his granddaughters' birthdays and graduation. But I know that he is in the comfort of God's arms now and there is no pain. John 16:22 reads, “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.”
